I Live with a Vampire!!!

By
Real Estate Agent with Surterre Properties

It's an eerie feeling, living with a vampire.  A Vampire sleeps all day and has unending energy all night.  Vampires are difficult to hunt down.

This one is 18 1/2 years old and he is on summer break before beginning college.  He has a job in a local beach restaurant which provides several day shifts and several night shifts for him to work or perhaps he'd sleep all day (except for a quick stop at the beach or the gym).

Just how long can he sleep?  About as long as you'll allow it...

But at night, he's a new man (very Vampire-ish).

How long can he stay out at night?  About as long as you'll allow it...

Do you have a Vampire at your home?  Enjoy him or her and love them unconditionally.  This is a special time in their life.  A feeling of exhilaration from their high school accomplishments mixed with some fear of the unknown about the new life they'll begin at college.

Michael, given my natural circadian rhythm and left to my own devices, I could get up an hour later every morning and go to bed an hour later every night.  I completely understand.  Too bad the adult world doesn't let us do that!

Michael, try to spend as much time as possible with your vampire. Your days and Nights together are precious.

Dear Michael,

I vaugely remember being a 'vampire' as a teen. It drove my mother nuts. Then according to her a miracle happened. I grew up and became an adult (living on the daylight hours like the rest of the adult world). Remember these words "This to shall pass... faster than you ever dreamed. Your kids will be grown and out of the house faster than you ever dreamed. Enjoy them while you have them.

;)

Michael, I have to agree with Brian. When I lived in Atlanta, I would come home from work and sleep till 8 or 9 pm and then go out till all hours of the night.

LOL - Michael - this household can relate totally to your post....our last Vampire is home from college and sleeps late whenever she can ( she works part-time and so sometimes she has to set that alarm :)

alas - we have " at home rules " that provide a curfew still ( I'm sure she can't wait to move back to her apartment at Purdue) - so we don't get disturbed much after midnite when she visits !

Sincerely,

Grace

Michael- I remember all those days so well! 5 times over and now our 6th will be there too.

But I am nocturnal. I don't go to sleep until 2 or 3 sometimes 4 a.m. and then wake up at 9 or 9:30. The beauty of running your own business! I tell my clients, don't call before 10 a.m.! But you can email at midnight:)

But the teens want 12 hours of sleep these days. When I was a teen I was on the same schedule I am on now.

Scientists have discovered that there is actually a gene that the owls (nocturnals) have that the larks( early risers) do not have:)

I love Wayne Dyers, Life without Limits, where he says, who says you have to go to sleep at 10 and rise at 6? The healthy, wealthy and rise stuff is nonsense. Why do we have to do what everyone else does?  Churchill slept til noon, he said, if God wanted me to see the sunrise he would have made it at noon. There are self made millionairs working online late in to the night to make their incomes.

One man I met is 87 years old. He wakes up at 9 a.m. goes for his walk on the beach, eats lunch with his wife and talks with her, the he works out for in his home gym, then he goes and does his errands, socializes etc until 8 or 9 p.m. Then he works online making his money from 10 p.m. to about 3 a.. then goes to sleep. He says, I make my money when everyone else is sleeping so I can enjoy the days.

Ah, what a great way to live!
