Irene - The last week or so we had $3.55. The additional drop came this morning. I've always wondered how these things work. More than a dime decrease in 24 hours!

It is interesting how when I travel, that gasoline seems to be less expensive in MO than any other part of the country. Which goes to show, if it can be sold that cheap there, it can be that price everywhere...

Good point Michael. I've always wondered about the pricing structure of gas. I know some of it is state and local taxes. But, in some places gas remains over $4 a gallon. I am guessing the difference in not all tax driven.

I heard the CEO of Chevron Texaco interviewed recently (might have been on Larry King)... one of the things that I learned in watching was that California Gasoline has a totally different formulation than other states and that is part of the reason why gas there is so much more expensive.  Just my 2-cents worth to contribute here! :)  WOW... $3.39, huh?  Not bad!

Steve - I had heard something similar now that you mention it. Seems to make sense, if they need to make a special blend for one particular area. What what the response would be regarding the rest of the country?

$3.39?  Good gravy.  The boss and I just paid $5.69 for diesel in Valdez.  Lebanon is looking pretty darn good!  :)

Tim - this post was written in July - what a difference a few months have made. When I wrote the post, I think most of us never thought we'd see under $2 a gallon again!

Cheryl - Under two bucks - what a beautiful site!
