If you're reading this, chances are you like to go to the internet for information.  You'll agree that the internet has changed everything. We basically have information at our fingertips, instantly! Most people go directly to the internet when looking or researching a topic, why not when selecting a real estate agent?

Here are five recommendations on finding a great Realtor online:

1. Look for responsiveness:  Identify three agents you feel you connect with and email them a property inquiry.  Committee, organized, full time agents will get back to you right away. Some don't even check their email daily or forget to respond.

2. Credentials: Once you've narrowed down the two or three agents you would really like to work with, check out their credentials. Have they had any training, do they specialize in a particular area or segment of their profession, i.e., waterfront properties, first time home buyers, seniors real estate to name a few.

3. Evaluate their website. You can learn a lot about an agent by taking a quick glance at their website.  How fresh is the content, how well do they know the market and do you feel it's informational enough for you to want to work with this person.  Do they have a strong web presence?

4.  Testimonials: Read them all. You will find out a lot about this Realtor after reading their testimonials page.

5. A Blogging Realtor:  While this is still a new phenomenon for many, great Realtors see the value of Blogging and are in full force with it.  Blogging allows a Realtor to network with other professionals in the business, to connect with the consumers and advertise their services.  Blogging takea a more "casual" approach which allows you to learn a lot more about an agent.  For example www.activerain.com is an excellent real estate networking website where you'll find thousands of Blogs from Realtors all over the U.S. (and other countries).  A Blog (web log) is just that "a log" of topics that a particular agent feels passionate about.  You'll have a chance to view their profile and see the dialog they have in the world of Blogging.  To the consumer, this means looking beyond a general website, it's looking at their personality.

We hope this was helpful to you. Come back and visit us again.
