Today my son and I decided to spend some time together. We like all types of food so we decided to go to Aroi, a Thai Restaurant in Rhinebeck. This restaurant is one of the newest in the area and is rather popular, so on a couple of occasions I tried to get in but it was full. It is not a large restaurant - there is seating for about 49 people inside. The menu offers something for everyone . I especially liked the curries and the use of ginger and coconut milk. There are lunch specials served with soup for about the same price as some sandwiches elsewhere. Today my son and I both had curries. I had the red and he had the green. However, we did agree on the soup, Vegetable Tom Yum Soup. So, if you are in the Rhinebeck area and you love Thai food or you are just curious as to what it is all about drop in. They would love to see you.

The restaurant is not open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for lunch. Thursday to Monday lunch is available from 11:30- 3PM and dinner Sunday - Saturday 5PM to 9Pm. Here is an example of what's on the menu

Kim - The decor was rather inviting.  This restaurant is located near the shops in Rhinebeck so one could have a special afternoon.

We have a Thai restaurant here in Menomonee Falls, WI.  I love the food and the prices are great.  But it never seems crowded.  I don't think people around Milwaukee are as open to trying new things as those on the east and west coast.

If they have volcano chicken at the Thai restaurant near you, try it.  I know you will be pleased and surprised.  The presentation is half the fun.

For those of you in and around Menomonee Falls, for a new experience in dining try Sawatdee Thai Restaurant (262) 253-4848 N88w16718 Appleton Ave, Menomonee Falls, WI 53051

Jennifer, it looks like you and Jonathan had a good time. Of course it is always good to make memories with your kids. My wife and I ran across a Thai restaurant in our area a number of years ago and just love going back. It has become one of our favorites. Sounds (and looks) like the kind of place I could really get in to.

Dennis - I will keep an eye out for the volcano chicken.  I love all types of spices and herbs, I am an island girl and with a family that looks like the UN I was introduced to many types of food.

Stephen - It is so important to have good memories with the kids, they grow up so fast, who knows Jonathan could move across country.  Aroi is a really nice place and if you like Thai food you would like it.

What a nice looking restaurant.  I love Thai food but my family doesn't so I don't get to indulge often.

Jennifer, Thai food seems to be gaining popularity.  I see Thai items regularly in the supermarkets now, with their curry, ginger and coconut milk seasonings.

I love Thai food also. It seems like everytime we get an authentic Thai restaurant in our area, it never stays open very long. But this ain't New York. Enjoy.

Brian - It is getting popular and I hope the first exposure anyone has to it is in a restaurant and not the supermarket.  Have you tried it?

Bob and Carolin-  If you are ever in this area you know of one place to get an exotic meal.

Dee - I know just what you mean, I know there will be a time when we will do less of this but for now I am making great use of our time together.  Well if you visit the area give me a call I would be happy to join you for a meal.

Karl - I am sorry to hear that.  I sure hope one of these days you will have a Thai restaurant that will stay open.

I also love Thai food and I adore Rhinebeck.  I used to go to summer camp right near there as did my son.  It's a beautiful area.  Is the Rhinebeck Inn still there?
