It was really strange typing August into the title of this post!  Can you believe it?  I hope you have all had a wonderful, fun and full summer thus far and that you manage to pack in just a little more during these last few weeks of summer.

Here are some great ideas to add to your calendar this week.  From the Town of Wake Forest website:

Special Olympics Fundraiser
Wednesday, July 30; 4:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Texas Roadhouse, 11440 Capital Boulevard, Wake Forest
Texas Roadhouse and the Wake Forest Police Department are sponsoring a fundraising event for the Special Olympics of North Carolina on July 30 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Come and enjoy dinner at Texas Roadhouse and a portion of the dinner proceeds will be donated to the Special Olympics Program, which allows those with intellectual disabilities to demonstrate courage and experience joy through competition! Contact Wake Forest DARE Officer Scott Graham at (919) 441-6883 for more information.

Festival Friday
Friday, August 1; 6:00 p.m.
Festival Park, S. White Street

Festival Friday is scheduled to be held each Friday from June 6 through October 17 on the grounds of Festival Park. In case of rain, the festivities will move indoors. Admission is $3. A portion of the proceeds goes to the Graham Johnson Cultural Arts Endowment. The point of Festival Friday is to provide a venue every Friday night for local teens to gather in a safe, fun environment and encourage local artists to show off their skills. Prizes will be awarded each week to select Festival Friday performers. Area residents are encouraged to bring your lounge chairs, blankets and enjoy. For more information, contact Elizabeth Johnson at ejohnson@medfaxxinc.com.

Wake Forest Farmers' Market
Saturday, August 2; 8:00 a.m. - Noon
Downtown Wake Forest - Municipal Parking Lot

The market offers fresh produce, pasture-raised beef, poultry and pork, free-range eggs, fresh and dried herbs, honey, jams and preserves, plus a whole lot more. The Farmers' Market is open Saturday mornings from 8 a.m. until noon through November 22. For more information, visit. www.wakeforestmarket.org.

Miss Leesa,

I'll see you at the Farmers Market gotta get some eggs, bacon and some sourdough starter.

Lady, you always have something going on in your backyard.  Have you been dancing lately?
