Awendaw, SC is located just north of the Charleston Area and offers true peace and tranquility. It is protected by the Francis Marion National Forest to the west and Cape Romain Wildlife Refuge to the east. Awendaw is a beautiful location. I passed up a few good deals ( by today's standards) in Romain Retreat back before Oprah discovered Charleston ('96 &'97)
