Awendaw, SC is located just north of the Charleston Area and offers true peace and tranquility. It is protected by the Francis Marion National Forest to the west and Cape Romain Wildlife Refuge to the east. These areas make Awendaw rich in natural amenities such as; great fishing, boating, kayaking, hunting, nature watching, biking, hiking, and horseback riding.

Awendaw is a beautiful location. I passed up a few good deals ( by today's standards) in Romain Retreat back before Oprah discovered Charleston ('96 &'97)
3 acre waterfront lot $170K
3775 sq ft foreclusure on the ICW $200k
Makes me sick to think about it today. One can't even get deals like those on Santee-Cooper these days.
The land and the water is one of the most beautiful places along the SC Coast with The Nat'l Forest behind -- its a sportsman's paradise
