Back on track...again...and again

I don't know why I do this to myself, I fall out of the exercising band wagon and stop watching what I eat and all of the sudden those pounds I managed to lose come creeping back.  But what is the worse is the lethargy.

I recently started running again and believe me I am not grace in motion when I run but I really like it.  Of course, the first thing that comes back is increased energy, well that, and the blisters on my feet.

Of course when I start running again,  the first thing I want to do is enter a 5K and on my latest visit to my the Seashore Striders website http://www.seashorestriders.com to find one, I found a link to a website that let's you use google map to build a course and most importantly it gives you how many miles you are running. In my case, it is about 1.6 but it is always nice to know.

Here is a course I built and saved.  I live in Lewes Delaware and Delaware is a flat state especially by the beaches, but this program also shows you the elevations.

This helps me keep motivated so I don't fall off the exercising band wagon as often.

Hi Regina- I can totally relate to this. I have done that so many times over the course of my lifetime and each time I fall off the wagon and then get back on I swear this will be the last time I have to do it. Although running is not my exercise of choice I have a niece who does and she is very good & very fast. I've heard you get a runners high. I like walking and swimming but for some reason now walking makes my feet burn, so swimming is my exercise outlet. I go early in the morning when not as many people are there and it is a wonderful way to start my day. Good luck in your endeavor and just know you can do it. There is a saying I heard and that is, the only reason we fail is "broken focus". I believe that is true. Thanks for the very relatable post.

You are doing great to get back on the wagon! Good luck with your recent re-start. We all need them. I was doing great until this weekend and tomorrow I restart again too! :-) Every day and every choice is a big part of our lives.

This would have been wonderful for me in High School when I was running 20 miles a day, I really needed to change up my routes as they started to get boring after 7 years of running the same streets over and over again.

Regina - Congrats on sticking with it!  The energy that comes with a consistent exercise routine is very underrated!  If I find my mood becoming more variable - it almost always relates back to consistency in the being active!

Regina, Keep up the good work!  We all fall off now and then.  I just started a walk-to-run program so that I can start running. I'm along way off from a 5K, but I figure eventually I'll get there.
