This weekend I took a drive through a very nice community in Southwest Florida known as San Carlos Park. I've been in the area since 1977 and have seen many communities grow and become more popular, such as Cape Coral, Estero, and Bonita Springs. With the advantage of it's location and road access, this community has a number of things in it's favor that will make San Carlos Park one of the more desirable neighborhoods to live in the future.

Within a 10 mile radius is some of the best shopping that Southwest Florida has to offer, including Coconut Point Mall and a Bass Pro Outlet store (my personal favorite because I love to fish). Fine dining or a casual night out, there are plenty of choices as for restaurants. Fort Myers Beach is a 30 minute drive (depending on the traffic) if you want to catch a tan and relax on Southwest Florida's white sand beaches. Location is key and San Carlos Park has it.

I decided to take in a couple of the attractions San Carlos Park has within it's own neighborhood, and it boasts quite a few. First off is the South County Regional Library. Here I was greeted by a nice librarian, Ms Carter, who was nice enough to show me around. One of the features I liked there were plenty of computer terminals and wireless was also available if you have a laptop. After the library I took a drive down Three Oaks Parkway toward Alico Rd and noticed Estero Medical Center, Sweet Bay Supermarket, Three Oaks Middle School, and arriving at my final destination, Three Oaks Community Park.

Want to live in a community that is family oriented and offers activities for all ages? Three Oaks Community Park in San Carlos Park has a variety of activities for both children and adults. Join a tennis team, and if you have kids sign them up for tennis lessons or sign them up on the soccer league. There are walking trails, and even a couple sand volleyball courts. Alico Rd is a major intersection in San Carlos Park leading from U.S.41 to Interstate 75, which is noticeably increasing in small businesses with plenty of room to expand as well.

You learn a lot about the community you live in by the people that surround you. After spending a day driving around the neighborhood and meeting some of it's residents, I got the feeling of being in a small community but with modern conveniences. I recently listed a home in San Carlos Park and found that there are some really great deals out there. There are rental income opportunities as well. With the prices of single family homes and multi-family type properties such as duplexes at an all time low, positive cash flow is now possible. Finding a home that is affordable and in a great neighborhood is alive and well in this community, and I'm proud to say that I'm part of it.Three Oaks Community Parkvolleyball courtlibrary
