The thing that has been on my mind the past few weeks is how do we as real estate/mortgage professionals ease the FEAR in the hearts and minds of friends, family, sphere of influence, etc.
I have been increasingly involved in conversation with others regarding the housing market. These conversations have been generated from people concerned about me, people concerned with their own sale or purchase, as well as people tying the housing market to "all things wrong" with the economy.
Although I have clients, family and Friends in all States 80% of my business is in GA and even though GA is in a much better position than lots of other States it still seems like the overwhelming feeling is of FEAR/UNCERTAINTY and it's growing.
I know the FEAR is real, I know it's impossible to ignore the state of the economy and the impact it has on everyone, either you're being directly effected or you know someone that has been or is currently. My question or my thoughts of been:
- Does providing information (hopefully accurate) ease peoples FEAR?
- Do people want more information or are they on "overload" already?
- Is it o.k. to reach for the masses or is one on one "the ONLY' way to go?
- Should I get caught up in this information dissemination, it does take time?
- Is it o.k. to just give a little pat on the back and say "it's going to be o.k."?
Well, that's what's on my mind. It's one of the first things I think about in the morning and is a guide throughout my day - "can I make a difference today or am I just adding to peoples FEAR".
