A Hand Written Note Can Make ALL the Difference

By

Missing from your mailbox:

Postcards, notes and personal letters. They've been hijacked by the internet. And though the web is a much faster and mostly easier (unless you have Vista!! LOL) means to get your message through, the art of the hand written note has gone the way of the dinosaur.

We rationalize our lack of written communication by telling ourselves that we will shoot an email or make a call. Most of the time we do neither. So not only is the note gone bye bye, so is that personal one on one touch that differentiates us from the salesperson we get compared to so often!

And by not sending the notes, we expect none in return. Even for those of us farming....we send out postcards, letters regarding the neighborhood, all with our information plastered so that someone would have the decency to at least send an email or make a call to either say hello, thank us for our time or show some effort towards civility.

Remember this the next time you take that long walk to the mailbox. The last time you received a note of such kind, how did it make you feel. Our clients expect the same. So when you open your mailbox today, you're probably pretty sure that those solicitations, politicians and businesses who want to make your day brighter are blasting  you as you blast your farms. But none are written in pen.

Resolution: send out 5 hand written notes at least a day. Past clients, future clients, your dentist, your GYNO ! LOL Make someone's day by making it personal.

I agree that a handwritten note carries a "volume" level that an email or text message will never achieve -- it's true personalization!
