Over the years I have talked to many people that have told me that they never follow their dreams. Over the years I have thought of how sad that has had to be for them and the ones that they love. I have always made sure that I do something that I love to do and when I am tired of loving it, I walk away. For 4.5 years I loved the company that I worked for and everyone around me knew it. When it became a chore to get out of bed to go to work, I quit doing it.

About a year ago, just short by 19 days, I found something else that I loved. It is called BLOGGING and a lot of us do it. I have always been a social bee always wanting to interact and never being the fly on the wall. For the last 11 months, a passion has been growing in me.

About 6 months ago I spoke to a friend about that passion and he told me that if I did not persue it, it would die. Over the last 3 and a half months, it has grown more and more. It started growing bigger when I was offered to write for Today.com on my own website called SportsFanatic based on their domain. Shortly after, I got an email from Jake of The Movie Space to also start writing for him on his site.

My friendship with Jake has grown over the last month and since that time. I expressed to him my desire of starting my own website as a Sports Network and kicking off a Blog platform that had many contributors. Over the year here I have grown to know a lot of people and develop report to the point of mutual respect. Writers we all all, and sports lovers for some of us.

So, with that said, last weekend I launched AthleticAlley before it was complete because I was so ready to get started. Today, I am here to announce the site is fully operational and running. You can check out the new theme, post, blogrolls, and check the latest scores.

With that, I would like to thank Rich Dansereau for coming up with the name, Jake Walters for building the majority of it, Chris Fisher for providing our temporary header last weekend, and Jim Ludes for pushing me to make it the best we can.

As there are many contributing writers to this blog, we all look forward to having you stop by to check us out and thanks for all the support that each has given us.

Hi Danny...I am thrilled for you.  How wonderful to be doing what you have a passion for.  I'll have to tell my sons although as far as I know they aren't into blogging like their mom is.  What's with the kids these days?  Can't they keep up with technology???

Congrats Danny, it is important for us to follow our passions.  I had been invited to blog on an MMA site, but I had to put it to the side because I have a few other things I am trying to focus on right now- still passions, just want to make sure I get 'em right and get 'em done.

I can see there must have been a smile on your face as you were writing this.....kudos to you.

Danny, Good for you!!  I admire you to follow your dreams.  I know how much you love your sports.  Sometimes I think there are some things I would like to do, but I always worry about the "safety net".  I need to let go and live a little.  I am very happy for you.

Jim, you know I will. Hopefully you are following my post on the NFL on SportsFanatic.

Audrey, if you never take a chance in life, you will always wonder "what if"

Danny, congratulations.  I am really excited for you!  I popped over to your new site and love it!  As a MAJOR college football fan, I will be checking it out daily and probably during the games and will be forwarding your site on to some other sports nutz that I know.

Coming from Knoxvile, please tell me you are a Vol and not a rabid fan of some other SEC team . . . especially those that wear orange and blue.

Gosh, it's great to be in the south!!  Go Vols!!  (Oh, yeah, I love the Noles too!!)

Deborah, actually I grew up in Georgia and a Bulldog fan. College made me a Seminole. Brains made me a New York Giants Fan though.

What's life if you don't live it, hey. I had a dream ... and one day I packed up the family and moved 6,000 miles to Hawaii. Dream come true and I have never been happier.

Congratulations!  I will take the time to look at your bloggs.  I sell real estate in Valdosta, Georgia.  Tonight Valdosta was named "TITLE TOWN USA" on ESPN.  Quite an accomplishment for this South Georgia town.

Danny,

I'm glad to hear you're chasing your dream. Keep it and it and stick with it no matter what. There are few things more rewarding I've found than getting to write on a daily basis and interact with people on a sundry of topics.

Can't wait to read all your posts at Athletic Alley!!

Patrick, life is all about living our dreams.

Karen, I know that town all too well. I called Waycross home for a long time.

JB, thanks for stopping in and commenting.

That was supposed to say "Keep at it" but I also wanted to say something else....

The blogosphere gets more and more of a big sea filled with LOTS of fishes. It's easy to get depressed or discouraged about your place in the ocean. But I'm so glad I read this post tonight because it reminds me of exactly why I started blogging to begin with. I need little "heart checks" and this gave me a good one. I feel a little more inspired to keep chasing my dream and I hope to stay in touch and watch as you follow yours.

Consider me a reader but make sure you keep giving me stuff to read, my new friend.

Peace to you!

JB, the think with this new venture is content is not going to be the issue. You will get your fill and I hope that even one day, maybe an article from JB will appear on AthleticAlley.
