POACHING THE GEESE UPDATE

The Land Park Community Association is going to speak with the city council regarding the disappearance of our geese.  Not only have the geese been disappearing, but it seems that people are fishing without a license and leaving lines and hooks that geese and ducks are getting injured in.  The association is also in contact with the Department of Fish and Game and will be adopting a resolution establishing an "Enforce the Law or Ban Fishing" policy in Land Park.

Four blogs in one day. That's almost a record. You know, Paula, you will only get credit for 10 a week. So, don't blow yourself out over this.

Speaking of our neighborhood, what do you think about the low turnout ratio for the support regarding the bike lane on Freeport?

Hi Elizabeth!
Actually, I wasn't blogging for points...I was blogging because I am offering my outside blog to neighbors and I wanted to be sure that there was some quality blogs for the neighborhood before I publicized it.

I am hoping that they will leave Freeport Blvd alone...it's clogged up enough as it is...one lane would be a disaster. As it is, there are often times when we can't get out of our office driveway...we have to turn the opposite direction (north), go up about 400 yards then cut through the park to go south.  It's not like bicyclists don't have an entire park to cut through to avoid Freeport Blvd.

Hi Paula: Well, that makes sense -- just trying to help; I know you are new here. The thing is the blogs on Active Rain are date stamped. So, ideally, you'd want one blog a day, just to keep things fresh for readers. But two blogs a day are OK, too. I wish that Active Rain had a feature where we could drip our blogs, but the only way to do that is to save it as a draft and then publish when you are ready. Except the date is saved on the draft and reflects in your blog, so it almost defeats the purpose.

I'm with you on the Freeport proposal. With the back-ups from light rail and since it's an alternate route to 99, the traffic can be horrendous. I get my nails manicured just down the street from you, and pulling out of that parking lot is like taking your life in your hands. All we need are more bicyclists on that street.

That is weird that we are having the same problem here in Oregon. I do have to wonder if it is the homeless taking them for food. But, I also have to wonder what they can do to stop it besides patrol the parks at night.
