Located at the South end of Alii drive, just below - Longs Keauhou shopping center - with restaurants, theaters, shopping and more, next to the Outrigger Keauhou Beach Hotel, with its dining and entertainment, also near Kahaluu Beach Park - world renowned for its gentle waters, marine life, turtles, and snorkeling. Surf and Racquet club is a gated community , Ocean Front, golf course front, and is a short walk to Kahaluu Beach. You have Tennis courts, swimming pool, and a sandy beachfront area at the North end of the complex. You could almost catch a cab from the airport and not need a rental car - if you like to get out and exercise! As a Realtor I am not allowed to make any claim as what you may earn using your condo as a vacation rental - but I do encourage you to take a look at some of the websites that promote this complex as rentals. One very picky website (they handle only select condo units) is www.AlohaCondos.com . If you look at the availability (they are almost all booked for the year), and the rates, you can judge for yourself as to whether or not they are a very successful rental spot. Another good website to check is www.VRBO.com . If you haven't guessed by now - the Keauhou area is well known as an upscale neighborhood.
Some people shy away at the high monthly maintenance fees - I always like to educate my clients to the fullest - so it's better to lay everything out upfront. I have an ocean front listing and I know the fees are about $860.00 a month - but you have to remember this covers your condo insurance also - not contents - but the unit itself. You tell me where you can get an absolute ocean front complex, ocean front unit, gated, tennis courts, recreation area that includes your insurance, for only $860.00 a month! Ever since Hurricane Katrina - insurance rates on ocean front units, has skyrocketed. Even though our weather is nothing like that of Florida and Louisiana, we all have to pay the price! I think in the last 25 years - we have had only one hurricane hit shores in Hawaii, and that was on Kauai. We are a lot different than the mainland when it comes to these weather patterns - Hawaii's location makes it ideal for perfect weather year round - hurricane season or not!
