Are you addicted?

I remember years ago when I didn't have a computer at home, I didn't have email and life seemed so simple! Now I can't imagine making it throughout the day without a computer. Email is such a convenient way to stay in touch with others, to communicate on the job and if our email is down you would think the world had come to an end!

Now that our society has become so advanced, it's hard to understand how people really were able to effectively accomplish what needed to be done without the assistance of a computer!

Our advanced technology is probably the huge contributing factor in the extremely busy lives that we all complain about so often! It's really kind of sad that we have become so focused on all the things that depend on a computer instead of enjoying the everyday pleasures of things such as spending time with family, taking a walk in the park, going on a hiking trip in the mountains or just a simple picnic by the lake. Maybe we should all give ourselves a break from our computers and take some time to just enjoy the simplicity of life. Slow down and enjoy yourself and don't be so caught up with "technology" that you miss out on what's important! Emails can wait but you can never get back time that you have neglected to spend doing something you enjoy!

Sign me up for the 12-step program. I turn off the computer after I read my emails and finish my work in hopes that I can stay off it for a while. Then I find myself 2 minutes later going back to the computer for something so small like looking up a phone #, then I get distracted and think of something else I should look up, and there it goes again 2 more hours on the computer. I guess the dogs can wait to go for a walk tomorrow.

Very funny Connie. But I can relate to the email addiction. I wish some people could be a little old fashioned and call me on my phone.
