Please wish my Grandmother a Happy 100th Birthday !!!!! My goal is 300 comments

Impi Daniels 100th Birthday - Bobby Daniels, John Daniels and Conrad Daniels I want to take a second and wish my grandmother, Impi Daniels, a happy 100th birthday.

Can you image having an age with three digits???

I was just in Smithville Tennessee with my family for the big celebration. But first let me tell you about Gram.

Impi (Gram) immigrated to the US from Finland when she was a teenager, leaving behind her brothers, sisters and parents.

She settled in several areas but met my grandfather and decided to call Jessup Georgia home.

While on their farm she raised 4 boys, John Daniels, Conrad Daniels (my father), Richard Daniels & Bobby Daniels.

What's the big deal there........ well these guys came from nothing ... no running water, no electricity on a farm where my dad's pets were goats and pigs, literally.

Short story.......

When the boys were all young teens gram decided the farm was not going to be the best place for them to succeed in life.

My grandmother took these little snot nosed hillbillies to Princeton, New Jersey of all places.

In Princeton, they lived in a 1 bedroom apartment on the third story of a building. My Grandmother has never had any formal education here in the united states, but I can say I've learned more from her than any other human.

My grandmother has literally met presidents, dignitaries... hung out with Albert Einstein, babysat for the Johnson and Johnson family. Better yet, she was a live in "nanny" for Arther Miller while married to Marilyn Monroe. The Marilyn Monroe.... She even has little "trinkets" that Marilyn and Arther gave her... like WOW!!

My grandmother has traveled the world and has her own "little treasures" from every journey she has made. She will never except a hand out .... never wastes a thing and is one of the happiest people I know.

All of her boys are highly successful men and they all have her to thank. So don't tell me you can't do something. My family tree is walking proof.

As she is doing her hair the hair dresser says to her, wow, I am half your age! The lady who turned 100 looked down all sad and sorrowful. Her hairdresser asked her what was wrong. The lady says, What am I going to do when YOU are too old to do my hair?

My Dad will hit 90 in November and is still going strong! He was the 1934 Jitterbug Champion of Western New York. Two years ago he sang a funny song he wrote on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno! I keep telling him the second century is the best, and you are providing a fine example!

A little Princeton side note, my wife @Marcyfay is a bit of an empath and totally gets creeped out in Princeton, because of the battlefield there. Our son-in-law aGraduated Princeton '95 and our daughter was Rider '96.

OH! I just visited my grandmother and grandfather last week. They are wonderful people and I love them dearly. I lived with them in the summers because my mom was busy w/real estate. I'm happy for you and your family! Not many families get to celebrate their families 100th!

This post made me miss my Grandmother, who passed away 8 years ago at the age of 93. We always thought she'd make it to 100. She lived every day to the fullest.

By the way, the last year of her life she was still taking cruises with her wonderful "gentleman friend", having survived 2 husbands.
