PropertyPreviews Equals Totally FREE Virtual Tours

By
Real Estate Agent with At Home Kansas BR00225772

PropertyPreviews.com allows anyone to create FREE Real Estate Videos and "Push" your listings to multiple websites including Realtor.com, Trulia, Oodle, Zillow, New York Post MarketPlace, Military.com MarketPlace, YouTube, Wal-Mart Classifieds, Local.com, and Lycos Classifieds.

Registration was easy and I was able to bulk upload 10 photos for a 60 second show very quickly (other option is 6 photos for a 30 second show).  This is done in a very similar method as RealEstateShows for photo upload.

The nice feature that has been added is that there are pre-existing labels for the photos which can be selected such as deck, back yard, master bathroom, etc. (much faster than typing).

The website also refers to marketing your real estate property listing and video on some of these Internet Sites but doesn't state whether they will go to those sites or not so I need some investigators to find out whether they do or not.

Real Estate Search, BeatYouThere.com, CityCribs, Clickable City Directories, CLRSearch.com, Condo.com, Cyberhomes, DotHomes.com, FrontDoor.com, HotPads, Homes.com, Homescape.com, Homescout.com, House.com, Househunting.ca, LandWatch.com, MyRealty.com, OpenHouse.com, Point2Homes.com, Propbot.com, RealEstate.com, Realtor.com, Roost.com, TheHousingPages.com, Trulia, Worldwiderealestateforsale.com, Zillow Real Estate Classifieds, Backpage, eBay, CraigsList, GoogleBase, Kijiji.com, LiveDeal, Local.com, Lycos, Oodle, Vast.com, Yahoo Video Sharing & Search, Blinkx, Blip.tv, Break.com, Dailymotion.com, GoogleVideo, Lycos, Vimeo, WellcomeMat, Yahoo Video, YouTube, and Zipvo.  Quite an impressive list if the PropertyPreview really gets pushed to all of these.

Well, http://propertypreviews.com/realestate/973/2513_kensington_lawrence_ks is the link to my first PropertyPreview.  Please post your links in a comment so I can take a look and see what we can learn from what the rest of you are doing with PropertyPreview.

Nice!  One issue, though, it took a really long time to load before it started.  I wonder if that was just a fluke, if not, it might be a little bit of a concern that a consumer would get tired of waiting and click away before the video starts.....

Cheryl,

Thanks for pointing that out.  I used greater than 2 meg photos times 10 photos so that is 20 megs!!  I wanted to see if a better quality was available and whether their servers would allow the better quality (at the sacrifice of time).  I had been sending 32k or so photos and I didn't like the quality as well.  I will probably make both a fast loading PropertyPreview and a slow loading PropertyPreview and ask my clients which link they prefer.

Thanks!

Hi Rob,

I just got word that they are actually part of VHT, and they are going to be charging a fee for distribution to the different websites. So, if that's the case, it's really not free at all.

Also, in reading their 'Terms of Use' and 'Privacy Policy' they openly state that they have the right to give all of your personal information to any third party for commercial purposes. That by itself is something to be concerned about.

Sorry for the bad news. But I thought I should give you a heads-up.

Michael,

You bring up some great points.  Yes, they are a division of the VHT company.  The fees, as I understand it, are for pushing are to websites like showcasing a listing on Realtor.com not to push it to Google, etc.

Here is an email that came from PropertyPreviews.com when I asked about making the "publish" or "push" to other websites easier since you have to manually select each "push" individually.

"Thank you for contacting PropertyPreviews.  We have on our list of enhancements for a future release to have one free distribution product that users can select so they do not have to add these individual sites to their cart.  We appreciate the feedback - keep it coming!  The PropertyPreviews Team"

I'm hoping this means that of the free choices to "push" to that one can be automatically selected when the PropertyPreview is created but time will tell.  I guess I would select Trulia as my one selection since they push it to other websites such as Wal-Mart Classifieds.  Then I will need to manually select the other free "pushes".

Yes, there are trade-offs for free sites but this is a very powerful tool if we choose free over $30 per tour or $125 for an annual unlimited tour subscription.

Thanks for your great points!

All – Thanks for all of the helpful comments related to the launch of our new video creation and distribution service – PropertyPreviews.com. We encourage your feedback and would love to hear your thoughts on how to make this an even more powerful tool to help real estate professionals in their marketing efforts.

A point of clarification – we do not charge a fee for distribution to the Web sites listed in our distribution section. We do charge a handling fee to post to Realtor.com but to YouTube, Google, Zillow, Oodle (and their distribution) and Trulia we charge nothing – zip, zippo, nadda. So no bad news here. Try us out and see what you think and again, keep the comments coming!

Thanks,

Jeff

One further point of clarification - it's Oodle that also feeds Wal-Mart Classifieds, as well as many other sites. Thanks!

I just wanted to give an update on the Property Previews site and say that it is still free and it still takes a little time to load up, but the time is well worth it.  I am adding it to my office web site as an additional marketing tool and I think that something like this that is free advertising technology deserves a second note!

Thanks Cathy for the update.  I am still using it and it seems to work great.
