XM and Sirius are finally merging? Part 2

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Trombley Real Estate

Yes!

After 17 months they have announced that the merge is complete and it will be called Sirius XM Radio Inc.

It will continue to be traded under Sirius on the NASDAQ.

It will continue to be lead by Sirius not XM.

The stock fell the largest amount in the last 5 years.

I am split on which one to use. My husbands old car had XM and we added a receiver to my car under his account now he has a new car with Sirius. I believe I like the channels in Sirius. But I think I am stuck with XM for another 8 months contract. OH well. At least I have something going down the road.

I know there are those out there whom do not want to pay for it every month but that is a personal choice. I enjoy listening to a lot of variety.

The deal is done. Although XM had more customers sirius had a better financial structure.  Less competition. Is that truly good for customers?

George - You should be fine. I believe it will be like the merge with Sprint and Nextel. They kept their own structure. And nobody can tell that they merged.

Tracy - Yes I agree with you. Competition keeps the prices down. Time will tell.
