Great post. Isn't it amazing how we can be two different people pretty much at the same time?
Years ago I told my husband that when we sell our home I'm hiring another agent to represent us. He looked at me in shock until I explained my reasoning (I would be the seller from hades...) He has agreed:-)
You were atleast smart enough to listen to the people that you hired. Many sellers from hell are not.
Anne~omg, I always said i wouldn't be that person, and i was...a lesson learned
Kris~this why doctors wont treat their own family
Scott~They would say, I listened as a last resort
:) thanks for that. I did the same think when I sold my home...now we know how sellers feel :)
Hi Ralph! Welcome back to AR! I'm looking forward to seeing you in Austin next month.
Now THAT was just downright funny! Sounds like you drove them crazy! I am glad that you took their advice and were able to maintain friendships - had you not taken their advice it could have been many months before you were back to AR! Congrats and welcome back!
Travis~ Exactly
Steve~ I missed you too
Leesa~ Thanks Leesa, I missed you too
Ralph, Without a doubt REALTORS(R) are the absolute worse folks to have to work for!!! I know because I'm the same way. Maybe it's just our subconscious wanting to get even for all the crap we've listened to over the years. :)
Bryant~ how true
Ralph - Your opinion on your own property's value was about 10% over the actual Selling Price - much in line with what I'm seeing amongst many Sellers on the westside of LA.
Stewart~great, I'm typical
Hi Ralph, that was pretty funny...at least you acknowledge your faults :-)
Mina~thanks for the comments
I think any of us in this industry have been there ourselves at some point. At least you took your "realtor hat" off and put on the "seller hat" instead of selling it yourself. So many times I see Realtors try to sell their own homes, and not all - but many, can't see past their own attachments and what they think their home is worth. Good for you - BH, even better =)!
Connie~it was tough switching hats, but in the end it what was needed to sell
