Ok, so I've had a few people ask me about some of the sights that I've seen over the years.  They generally ask about the worst this or the scariest that, and I'm happy to share.  I'd like everyone to know that the names have been changed to protect the 'not-so' innocent.  As an appraiser, I am confidential to my clients, and will not reveal location or client.

Barn foundation collapse

This was taken on the inside of a 200 + year old barn with a full foundation.  It was later determined that the cause of the foundation failure was due to a lack of maintenance while the property was vacant!!

Just another fine example!!

No problem.  We've decided that we'll be adding posts on a more regular basis, showing some of the fine examples of maintenance, or lack there of.  Stay tuned!!

It looks like you took your life into your own hands for that photo. The post to the left is almost off the footing and split! Glad you got out O.K...

It was worse than it looks, and I was quiet nervous.  Nevermind the fact that the barn was 3.5 stories tall, not counting the basement, and I went all the way to the top!!

WOW!!! That is just crazy. One time I swear we found a pond under one home; it hada leak that the owners didn't know about. Thanks for sharing, Jim
