Why Now is the Time for Foreigners to Buy in Florida

Florida has always had a significant number of foreign property owners in years past due to our great climate, attractions, and miles of beaches. But in our opinion there has never been a better time for foreigners to purchase Florida Real Estate than right now for three main reasons. 

1. Buyers Market.  There's no secret that just about all of Florida is in a buyers market right now. In many areas prices have dropped to 2003 prices. Most areas have seen prices stabilize so far this year, which makes now the time to buy before property prices start heading up again.  With the amount of property on the market today, in many areas buyers are negotiating from a position of strength with sellers willing to negotiate on price and other perks much more so now than in previous years. This allows the foreign purchaser to pick up bargain properties in Florida.

2. Exchange rate. For most of the world their currency is currently quite strong against the US dollar. 1 EUR today buys a $1.55,  1 GPB buys  $1.98, and the Canadian dollar is just about on PAR with the US dollar which means most international buyers can get an even better discount on their property because of the currency they will be purchasing with making the deals that much better.  We tell clients in the UK that they can pretty much buy Florida property half off right now based on their pound being so strong! In addition we have a relationship with a Currency Trader that provides better exchange rates than most banks, to add to the savings!

3. Interest Rates. For those foreign buyers that wish to finance a percentage of their property interest rates are still very competitive today. We have several contacts that specialize in mortgages in Florida for foreign buyers.
