Doooorrriiiiiiiiii

~~~~~~~~
If you just want to HANG AROUND go to the Dillingham Air Field on the North Shore of Oahu and do the Skydiving thing.
Dillingham Airfield was fully utilized during World War II. Over the years it was an Army Air Field and an Air Force Air Field and finally closed but used for civil use in the 1970's.
In a joint agreement with the military and the State of Hawaii it continued civil use and in the late 1990's until present there are the skydiving and sailplane rides. The gliders and many private aircraft are based here as well.
Now, back to the title. Yup, that's my daughter skydiving. Did she tell me she was going first? Nope. She's about 90 pounds so you gotta know that she NEEDED someone to hold on to her lol! Below is Kaena Point on the North Shore of Oahu and right before it is Dillingham Airfield.
Any one of you who is a parent knows what it's like to worry about your kid. ....No matter how old they get...they're still your babies. At least I still feel like that.....especially when they're quite a ways up in the air...in the clouds and just 'hanging around' up there.
 So....enjoy the show.....Dori up in the clouds :)
Skydive Hawaii 8:30am to 3pm
68-760 Farrington Hwy
Dillingham Airfield
Mokuleia, Oahu
Hi Sally,
Its a good thing she didn't tell you first! LOL! She looks like a pro...no fear. :)
Sally,  I can say two things for your daughter, one, she has guts!  Looks like a lot of fun and a very gutsy move.  And two, she must care for you very much.  She didn't want you to worry or worse, have a heart attack.  Mike
Woo-Hoo: You have a brave (and beautiful) daughter! I have a son  like that (brave or stupid, I don't really know). In fact, two of my three have paidto JUMP FROM A PLANE.  They don't get it from ME I can tell you. Remember the old show  with Mr. T and how he had to be drugged to be put on a plane? WELL, I'd have to be drugged and PUSHED from a plane.  Kids to bless us.
Sally, Yep. That's a smile.  ;0)  It looks fun, but no way.  Huh, uh. Nope.  LOL.  I do bet that the view is unbelievable from up there though!
She looks really relaxed and unconcerned about any danger!  She is having a good time.  This could be classified as one of "A Mother's Worst Fear"s
Sally, my wife always told me that if I wanted to skydive I'd have to do that before we got married.  So I guess I lost my chance.  Though, since we've been married, I've gone whitewater rafting on Class 5 rapids, gone up in a WW-I open cockpit airplane and done acrobatic maneuvers in the sky, run a marathon, and some other daring adventures.  Good thing she went before telling you -- I can imagine you would not have been thrilled about "letting" her go.
Sally, she'll never get low life insurance rates again LOL. Glad everything was safe but I see how you might worry. I one time took a helicopter ride when my mother wasn't looking. Kids will be kids.
Sally, my oldest son took his perfectly good body that I brought into this world and jumped it right out of an airplane, not once but 3 times.  He didn't tell me before he did it...just brought home a video of his first jump to see my reaction.  Then he laughed his butt off at the horror on my face!  I completely understand how you feel.
My Goodness, Sally, what a post!  It's better that she didn't tell you until she was safely back on the ground, you would have been frantic.  I went up in a hot air balloon and that's about as high up as I'm going--without a plane :)
Sally, Momma says no! What can you do...I'm like Missy....she has to do her own thing. Don't you just hate when they grow up and can make their own decisions....actually it's all good...all parts. I think you get closer when they start making their own decisions and it's a good time when you are her friends that she comes to talk to and get advice....who would have ever thought it would actually happen. Love the video as always.
I have never understood why someone would jump out of a perfectly good airplane????????  Maybe for my 65th birthday I will try it what do you think.
I am sure she had fun doing it tho, aren't kids great?
Sally~ If any of my four children ever did that, they need NOT tell me first because I would rather NOT know until after the fact either!  I don't think I could ever do that, I mean heck I wouldn't even go Parasailing in Cancun, so I KNOW I wouldn't do it either!
My brother has done that twice, me - NO WAY.  It was a big thing when I went on a GIANT swing in Orlando, FL (I forget how many stories high, something like five to seven stories high I think) with him, but jumping out of plane goes a bit too far for me.
I love skydiving. I used to skydive in the nineties, have about 800+ jumps. Still miss it and dream about it, but wouldn't do it any more (unless somebody really twisted my arm). ~Rita
