International Real Estate

By
Real Estate Agent with Daignault Realty, Inc.

Ok, so this is my first blog. I've been meaning to get around to it for years. I guess I needed to get so excited about a topic that I would feel compelled to publicly express it. Recently I earned my TRC, which stands for Transnational Referral Certification, at the Real Estate Expo in Orlando. I was so intrigued by what I learned there that I immediately signed up for my first CIPS course, that is Certified International Property Specialist. Last week I completed the first course "International Real Estate for Local Markets" and am moving forward with my designation application and signing up for Europe & International Real Estate, Asia/Pacific International Real Estate, The America's & International Real Estate, The Middle East and Africa & International Real Estate and Investment & Financial Analysis.

My Real Estate practice is based out of Florida's Space Coast in Brevard County and I think this area is a fabulous place to live and work. My home is 35 minutes from the Orlando International Airport, an hour from Disney World and 5 minutes from the ocean. The property here is ridiculously affordable. The average middle class person can live in tropical paradise, in a water front home on a canal and watch dolphins in their back yard. How cool is that?

From what I have heard 37% of International buyers buying in the U.S. choose Florida. Really? I'm surprised it's not even higher. I really can't believe how inexpensive it is and feel that this area, including Merritt Island, Cape Canaveral, Cocoa Beach, Satellite Beach and surrounding areas is truly an undiscovered market. But that's just my opinion. And, actually, the opinion of many of my friends which explains the influx of visitors my husband and I have experienced since we relocated here from Texas five months ago. We have a friend from California who has already come twice and yet another from New Jersey is coming for her second visit on Friday.

Now that you know how I feel about Florida's Space Coast you should also know why I am so excited about International Real Estate. Travelling is my passion. Meeting different people from around the world is the most wonderful, eye opening and educational experience you can have, if you ask me. I guess it started at an early age. Being the daughter of a Navy man I had the good fortune of moving to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba when I was only six years old. I grew up in Northern California from the age of eight to eighteen. From there I went to college in North Carolina. After I graduated I spent a year in Europe, which truly ignited the flame of my passion for International exploration. As a young backpacker I met hundreds of wonderful people from all over the world. Together, with my International travel companions, we explored Ireland, the U.K., The Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy, The Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria, Germany, Belgium and Switzerland on the Eurobus!

After this amazing experience during my early twenties I just can't get enough! Since then I've had the privilege of seeing Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Canada and Mexico. I even married a foreigner! My husband is from The Netherlands, unfortunately I haven't picked up the language, but there is always tomorrow to work on that. So, all in all, I have finally found a field of work that is also my passion. And I'm so excited that I just can't hide it. Thus this long blog. Thanks for reading it!
