After a bit of 'Buyer's Paralysis,' I had one of my favorite clients back to town to finalize their new home search this week! I've been working with them for nearly 5 months and have enjoyed showing some of our finest properties in Charlotte.
On the day that they were to come back to town, I had two Closings--one at 11:00 and one at 4:00. So, I asked my partner, Scott, to help me out all day yesterday--I'd be with them a portion of the day but, he would be with them the entire time. We all met at the client's hotel, I introduced Scott to them and we set out for the day!
Luckily both Closings were ready to go and no last minute issues came up, so my Buyer had my undivided attention. I love working with Scott, taking care of Buyers because he's got alot of construction knowledge and can really 'talk' the guy's language and is also great comic relief! We really need to do this more often!
Shortly after 1:00, I joined them to see another gorgeous home. Stepped out of my car and was just mesmerized by the backyard--it was simply gorgeous and instead of heading towards the front, I motioned them to the backyard. All of a sudden, I was on the GROUND--just out-of-the-blue, I took a BIG spill! I have no idea what happened--I didn't trip, fall off of my heel, or twist my ankle--I just fell like a tree! The worst part: I was wearing a dress! OMG, talk about EMBARRASSING!
Well, I completed my day--the showings were complete, the 4:00 Closing over, and I finally had dinner with a couple of my team members. I was in serious pain but, I had to get home and work on today's schedule. We still had a few homes to re-visit before finalizing the list of contenders for my Buyer so, I had a bit of homework to do before turning in.
I didn't get much sleep because of the pain but, started the day again, headed out to meet my Buyer and Scott decided to join us again today--THANKFULLY! I was so sore I could barely climb stairs but, I didn't complain and just kept going. Finally, after getting BACK in this evening, presenting an OFFER for my Buyer and catching up on emails, I decided to hit the Urgent Care to see if I had broken anything--could have been shoulder, ribs, elbow, hip, femur or ankle, who knows?--my ENTIRE side was killing me!
Well, guess what?! I was walking around for the last day and a half with a couple of broken ribs and an eggplant on my hip! Of course, while I'm in the doctor's office, the Listing Agent phones me to get more information from me regarding the Offer my client had presented earlier! Is there EVER a time that we are not "ON" in this business?!!
The good AND bad news: There's absolutely NOTHING that they can do for broken ribs!! As with life-in-general, time will heal them!
I just know that I'll be 'all-better' if my client's Offer is accepted and we're good to Close in August!!
