Alright...did I miss the memo????

I've commented on a couple of blogs tonight and noticed something different.....

What happened to those crazy words we used to have to type??

You know...the one we had to type in to verify we are a real person blogging on Active Rain. Love the change...but any idea why this happened?  I kind of miss typing "blackberry", "dingleberry" etc.

I think they're cooking up something new so we don't have to type anymore than necessary. Wouldn't that be nice?

That would be OUTSTANDING!!!! If anyone knows for sure...do tell.

Today I have had some blogs that i've responded on that I don't have to type funky words. Perhaps you don't have to do it if you are an associate of the person?

Hi Beth,

Someone just posted this in another group and I didn't see it until today when I started commenting. I'm glad they're gone- you have no idea how many times I misspelled those crazy words!

Grumaximiera goodbye!!!

HOOORAAAY!!!

Talk about a time saver by eliminating those. Let's hope this is one change that will stick.

I can't say that I miss those words!  Oddly enough, sometimes I need to type them in, other times I don't... It is the great mystery of AR!

BTY:  I am required to type it in this time.  The word is pitomba.

So strange Kristina. I too have ocassionally had to type one in...and others have not. Someday the mystery will unfold.

Beth there has been a couple of other posts that addressed the lack of crazy words.  I guess the first time or 2 that you comment you may have to use the passwords but after that the system is supposed to recognize you so that you don't have to continue with them

It's odd, for sure.  Some of my comments are requiring those "crazy words" and others aren't.

Thanks Jeff. I'm going to watch for this pattern...but if my memory serves right, it's been kind of sporadic as to when I need to enter one. Rergardless of the pattern...I'm grateful for the ones I don't have to spel those long words :)

Interesting,   is it deliberate or is something funky going on.

I would say it's a cookie dropped on your machine but that would effect all the posts not just some.

Hi Virginia!  I'm really, really hoping it's deliberate. We'll see...time will tell :)

Or perhaps the AR Gods :)
