Do you think I'm sexy?Rod Stewart gave a concert on Monday night at the Furniture Show in Vegas. It was in the outside patio area at the center of the three buildings at the World Market where the show is held

There was a huge banner of Rod, looking very good and not a day over 45, hanging from building B over looking the area. Every morning as we got off the bus Rod would be towering over us, looking down and giving us a sexy smile. Yes, that was nice, but that wasn't the best thing that was happening this week at the Furniture Show in Vegas.

For those of you who have attended large trade shows before you know that it's a lot of walking, looking, and talking.  It's darn exhausting and exhilarating all at the same time.

There is nothing better than walking into a showroom and finding numerous items that are perfect for your inventory. Better yet when they are at a reasonable price and have a low minimum order.  Ooh, Ooh, comes out of your mouth and you do just a little bit of the happy dance.

BUT that still is not the most exciting thing that happened this week for Terrylynn Fisher and me at the Las Vegas Furniture show. Ok, I will get to the point.

This week, for the first time, while attending a trade show as a professional stager, we walked into a showroom, handed over our badge card, and the ladies behind the counter would say, "oh, you are a stager! That's great! That business is really booming isn't it? Right this way. Let me get you a rep to show you around."

Now don't get me wrong, in the past the reps were not exactly rude, but this is the first time that we were treated like royalty and EVERYONE not only knew about our profession, but that it was a viable business!

It was very exciting. Of course, with all that attention, we spent a little more money than we had planned. In the old days the reps would pretty much ignore us and we could wander around the showroom by ourselves until we were ready to order. Now they want to assist us the entire time.

We found lots of great things to put on www.StagersLIST.com's shopping mall and can't wait to get them up and loaded.

We are currently at the airport waiting for our plane.  We are tired and are looking forward to going home. Staged to Sell has a staging tomorrow, Friday and Monday and I haven't designed a thing! Wish I had all the new items we found. Doing the happy dance just thinking about it!

Oh my goodness, I can't take her anywhere.  Yes ROD was divine.

She tells all our secrets.  We did have a nice time, walked our little feet off, and found many good sources for StagersLIST.  We are pretty committed to our promise to get stagers pricing that they can't get anywhere else.  So, be looking for our new offers.

I can't believe you didn't go to the concert!  He puts on a great show.  But of course, furniture is very important too.  Can't wait to see what I get to load into the site!  Love the tiaras, how'd you do that?  : )

I was going to go to the Vegas show - one of my reps sent me free vouchers to attend - but alas, I'll have to live vicariously through you ;-)  so the big question is - did you watch Rod perform?

Rod, Furniture, Vegas, good food, shopping, just the girls.  That must've been so much fun!  Don't you just love our business.  But as exciting as it all sounds, I think the best part is the way you and Terrylynn were received.  It's a good sign that our profession is gaining the respect we deserve.  It never did feel very good being ignored - but not anymore.

Oh, and I've seen Rod in concert several times before, been to Vegas several times (just last month) - but I'm with Amber on the fact that nothing gets me more excited these days as furniture at a bargain price does!  Thanks for sharing your experience in Vegas.

And to think I thought I was the only Rod Stewart fan.  Bummed to have missed him.  You probably left out the 110 degree temps from your blog on purpose:)  Heck, with Rod it was probably even hotter.

We are probably gonna go in January again, but darn it no Rod Stewart!  I hope Valesca got his autograph for me...

Joe - yes, it was hot, but after the first day we were use to it AND we were rarely outside. The three buildings that make up the World market are HUGE! You just get lost in the 100's of showrooms.  They treat buyers very well there and Donald Trump has a new home line so he sponsored cold waters as soon as you hit the pavement :)  Love the water, but I wasn't wild about his new line.

Chris - hmmm... now where did those tiara's come from? They weren't there when I wrote the blog! I think its time to change my pass word :)

Connie we were just too tired to attend. I know, I know, we are getting old! We have been burning the candle at both ends and we just didn't get there. Next time we won't miss it.

Emma - I hear you. It was very refreshing.

Amber - you would have been one wild woman then because the furniture was amazing! I found some new lines that made me go crazy!

Kym, in high school I had Rod Stewart hair...no josh.  Straight hair with colics can stand straight on end with little effort.  I was rockin'.  Love, love, love the photo of you two!  Thanks for the blog.  You live quite the life, my dear!

Kym & TL -

OMG I am so jealous.  I was planning on going to LV but in the end I had to cancel my plans.  Had I known you were going, I would have worked harder at making it happen!  Next year?!

Kym,  Wasn't Rod Stewart awesome!!!!  I can't believe we didn't run into each other.  I have been shopping furniture market for 33 years (I'm dating myself) twice a year...a few tips - always carry an extra pair of shoes with you and change every couple hours.  It makes such a difference on your feet and legs.  2nd - spray your feet before you put shoes on with anti persperant deoderant.  It keeps your feet from swelling.  OK, those are me secrets.
