Here in St. Paul we have many large and small city parks. I am finding wildflowers in them and started taking pictures of them. I ended up with so many pictures that I started a Minnesota wildflower blog.  When I find pictures of flowers online often they are not labeled, or if they are they are labeled with the wrong name or simply called "yellow flower".  I ended up buying a book about local wildflowers so that I can identify more of them. I found some resources on the Internet for identifying flowers and included links in the sidebar of my blog.

The Minnesota wildflower blog is just a way of publishing and labeling the photos.  I noticed that it started getting traffic from google immediately.  The traffic is coming from people like me who are trying to identify flowers. The blog is just a hobby and more of a web site than a blog. When I have a picture I post.

Hi Teresa, beautiful as always. I have a quick camera question?

The last two mornings we have had RED sunrises. Both times I have tried to shoot them, they turn out white with the sky red, but that is not the true picture. I shot it is scene mode and the automatic mode, any suggestions to get the RED sun?

Missy I have had that problem too, it usually has to do with too much contrast in the photo.  The only thing I can think of is to change what you have the camera focused on. Maybe try something in the foreground and get the red sunrise in the background.

The wildflower blog is a great idea, a useful resource for many and a fun thing for you to do.  Thanks for taking the time to share it with us.  I have never been to your area of the country and its great to have a blog to see the wildflowers, I live about 4 miles to the LadyBird Johnson Wildflower Center here in Austin Texas so I enjoyed your blog alot.

Teresa - Great idea.  I love taking wildflower walks especially in the spring.  What kind of camera are you using?  At the moment I only have a point and shoot digital camera and am considering making a step up.  I used to do a lot of black and white photography and particularly loved working in the darkroom.

Teresa, that's a beautiful hobby you have!  I'm shooting a lot of wildfowers on Cape Cod while I'm on vacation.  I have no clue what they are, but they sure are pretty!

Teresa--Beautiful flowers and photos! There is a wildflower garden surrounding the baseball fields in White Bear Township along 35E. Easy maintenance for the city and beauty for everyone else. Win-Win situation.

I simply love your photos...almost as much as I love flowers so this new sight is perfect for the likes of me.  In NC they grow wild flowers along the Interstates...in the springtime it is just amazingly beautiful.  Another reason why I don't miss California.

Native wildflowers are the most logical thing to put in your garden - if it is a local plant, it is drought tolerant!!!!!!!!!

Hi Teresa,

It's been a long time since I stopped by to say hello!  Love your flowers.  You know I'm a bit of an admirer of flowers as it's my second love next to real estate.  Oops!  My third, I should say since Bob is my first and real estate my second.  :)  You gave me an idea to re-post my flower show!  Thanks!
