Happy CamperSome things in life are easier for me. I don't know why, but they just are. Take like having fun. Fun is very easy for me. Trust me, I have monumental problems under the surface that I deal with on a daily and yearly basis but I find a way to have fun each day despite this. With the real estate market in the doldrums, I will share my simple

STEP BY STEP TO BEING A HAPPY CAMPER GUIDE.

Do this and you will achieve more happiness in your life.

Step 1: Write down on a list what is fun for you to do in your life.

Step 2: Do a lot more of what is on the list in Step 1.

There. Your rocket scientist guru friend has given you the magic formula.

I will tell you this. As simple as this is, people don't follow this advice. Check out the last week. How many fun things did you do? Well look at your short list or nothing list. No wonder you are depressed. Do this now. Work it baby. Work it harder. Give yourself an assessment at the end of the week and see if you did better this week compared to last. I don't know what to tell you other than it works. I can't live your life. I can't share you being miserable with you. Not gonna happen. Remember, I AM THE FUN GUY. But I will share in your joy, when you take my little two step tip here and become a

                HAPPY CAMPER.

Let me know how it turns out for you. Think of it as a mid year resolution to yourself. Life is much, much too short to not have FUN every day!! Laugh. Sing. Be silly. Be creative. Dance. Hug. Kiss. I know you can do it. If you came this far in reading this, I know you want more fun in your life too. Get started. I'll be cheering you all along the way!!

Hi Gary ~ Trying to catch up, as I have been out of circulation working way too hard.  Love the smile on your camper, what fun!  Oh, I would rather have fun and joy any day compared to sadness.  I think it is a matter of your mental attitude.  Looking at the beauty and the simplicity of life is so refreshing.  I think when we take time out to smile, play or have some type of fun it is like a B-12 shot that keeps us all sane and healthy.  Thank you for sharing this with us!

Congratulations on another Featured Post, I just noticed that. Good for you,  I'm giving you a round of applause from Idaho!  Can you hear it?  ; -)

Have a Colorful Day!

Gary!  Sounds like you make a great friend and co-worker. What was the name of the book? "Don't sweat the small stuff - and it's all small stuff! It's a true gift to live with a sense of fun and gratitude which can often be a blessing to others.

Irene: I think you hit on something there. The fun and laughter serves as like a base of strength to get through all the hard stuff including work and even sadness. That is why it is so vital to do. Hopefully others will discover this and include fun in their days. I hear the applause. Thanks.

Pam: You just always keep amazing me my Meridian friend. Truthfully, I don't say that about many people. I think we are synergistic here lately for each other. My big word for the day. Each helping the other pull each other up. I would expect nothing less from Mrs. No Limit. You should see my eyeballs open wide when I see what you do. Or is it jaw dropping? Whatever it is, it sure is fun. With you I am definitely a Happy Camper!

Judy: I try to be a good friend and co-worker if people let me. You'll find some will push back because they WANT to be miserable. It is interesting to me. I like that saying about not sweating the small stuff. As you get older you do see so much in life that is small stuff. If I have a gift a sense of fun and gratitude I definitely want to share it.

Colleen: Live, love, laugh. If we could just do that EVERY day of our life, what a GLORIOUS life that would be. If I were to get a tattoo on my arm as a reminder, that is what it should say. Thanks for that wonderful thought today and YOU got my weekend off to a good start.

Nice post Gary!  I would add, as several people on here mentioned, that simply having an attitude of gratitude can significantly brighten up your daily life.  Almost without question anyone reading this has a huge amount of things to be greatfull for.  If you can't think of something as your reading this start with the basics such as, "Wow, I can see and read these words!"

Keep on smilin   ;-)

Bryan, gratitude is essential to work out your happiness. Like you said, even seeing the most basic of things like not taking your vision for granted is a start. My beautiful friend here in the Rain, Susan Mangigian, just wrote an excellent blog article on gratefulness. Check it out and comment to her. It is called

Don't lets ask for the moon. We have the stars.

Gary I knew I liked you for a reason.  You sing and dance just like me.  My teens think I am a nutball but I do it because I want to FORGET the bad things that are going on.

You just gave a mini lesson on compartmentalizing each day of your life :)

Now that was EASY.  All you need is this simple, yet important approach to life!  It is important to have fun every day.  I watch my cat -- each morning after she wakes me up at 4:30 a.m -- she wants to play -- (have fun -- start the day with fun)... then it's time for breakfast -- then a morning siesta!  Hmm, I think this cat has it all figures out -- no wonder she has 9 lives!

Renee: Singing and dancing is good for your soul. If you are into that you WILL BE a happy camper. The compartmentalization of a day with time for others and time for you is a great way to look at it. By default, that's how I am living my life. There is some part of the day (my fun time) others are not going to take away from me.

Joan: See, those cats are pretty darn smart. I like the morning siesta. I could use one of those after enjoying a big breakfast. Just know what is fun, make time, and do more of it.

Gary, we get all complicated about how to be happy and it's really easy. Lester Levinson noted that when we feel the best is when we do something from the heart with love. I bet those things on our list will correlate with the things that come from love in our life...family, nature....or just what ever connection has meaning! Nice post. Short and to the truth!

my motto is that I work so that I can play.  And I find time for play...riding my horses 5 days a week, walking the dogs, going out to do social things...its a priority for me.  And I think other than being a little tired, its my recipe for happiness. So...I agree with you totally and live by your words daily.
