Change is always the same
My oldest son is starting college this year - leaving Maui, off to California. This will be a big change for him and the for us, not having him around all the time. I know he will miss us, as well as all Maui has to offer: windsurfing, hanging out at the beach with his friends, looking at the beautiful Maui sunsets, hiking up at Mt. Haleakala, etc.. He is excited, but also a little scared of all the changes.
This started me thinking that changes, whether big or small, usually create the same reactions in people - excitement, joy, apprehension, uncertainty, worry, fear - any and all of the above. As realtors, we deal very closely with people who are making major changes in their life. Buying or selling property is a big decision, usually one of the biggest people ever make, and this can be an emotional time.
Whether a first time homeowner, selling because of family/work issues, buying a "dream" home/vacation condo, or buying or selling property purely for an investment purpose, whatever the reason, this change can be very stressful.
I work very closely with all my clients to help them through these changes and make their transaction as smooth and stress free as possible. Sometimes, just being a good listener, and being empathetic to their needs and concerns throughout the entire process has really helped me to build and reinforce the relationship.
Just a thought to help out. Mahalo

A beautiful Maui sunset.
