I Need Your Input, Please! Can Someone Garner Over 10,000 AR points in Only 7 Days? (edit/delete)

My competitor in this market is over 10,000 points away from 100,000 points.   I am the only one in my market with over 100,000 points.  According to Bob Stewart's blog, first dibs on Localism go to the veteran Rainers.  Those with 200,000+ points get first dibs (that would be 12pm Pacific time, so 3pm our time, on August 7th (there are no 200,000 pointers in my market), 100,000+ pointers are allowed Localism gravy at 12:15 (that would be Yours Truly), while those with 50,000+ points could get in the game a full 15 minutes later.

What does all of this mean?  It means that I will be able to secure the Localism market for my area, unless my competitor figures out a way to garner over 10,000 points in seven days.

Is that even possible?  Please advise!  I WOULD LOVE YOUR HELP ON THIS ONE!!!

I would love your help on this one!

If you have not read up on Localism and the amazing opportunities, you should.  Check out the link to Bob Stewart's blog!

It is completely possible.  Referrals would work if someone really wanted to push the envelope.

Mirela:  As far as I can see... 10,000 points in seven days is not possible.  Ten posts x 200 = 2,000 points, plus 10 comments a day x 25 points = 250 a day x 7 days = 1750 a week.  That makes 3750 points maximum... plus any additional points if each post either gets featured, or gets a lot of comments, which would up it's points from 200 to perhaps 275, or whatever.  Bottom line... 5000 points in a week,... a whole lot of stuff would have to go right.  I cannot see 10,000 points in one week... not gonna happen.

It's not possible to get 10K points within a week.  Didn't this get published about an hour ago?

Seriously, 10,000 points minus 3750 points = 6250.  You get about 300 points per referral.  For a community area, I'd make the calls if I wanted it bad enough.  21 people and I get to run head to head for communities?  I wouldn't do it.  I'd let the one that earned it keep the right.

You guys are all forgetting referral points.  Refer 30-40 people, and you'll have your 10,000 points.

I think you're wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy overthinking this.  You're expecting much more demand for Localism than reality will show.  It looks like Washington is still wide open and it's been open for Sponsorship for 14 hours.  I just randomly picked about 80 cities in Washington, and NONE of them are sponsored yet.

It could be done, but it would be hard work.

4:59am • #7

It would be very difficult I think to get 10,000 points in a week.  You just have to work this hard at the beginning and work at it.  The Rain does pay off.  I picked up membership in a BNI the other day because of the RAIN.  That is something I've wanted to do for a long time.

Yes I also say it would be very difficult but not impossible. You would have to solicit alot of referrals and they would have to do many points.

It would take some serious invite points or referral points - The 7 day period though is over the weekend - Max participation (post and comments) points on Saturday and again on Sunday would give 4500 total, 250 for comments over the other 5 days equals 5750. Even with some bonus points for the quality posts - make it 6000.

They would need 4000 points or more from invites and referrals.

Good luck on the Localism rush.

I guess it is too early for the math but 10K in a week? I can't see it.

Mirela, nothing is impossible that is man made. It is difficult now to do such a feat in this amount of time. About a year ago is was very easy to do this, the way the system was. Good Luck on your venture.

It used to happen all the time when AR was giving points for photos.  Now it comes from invite points and linking!

Anything is possible.  However, I can't see it happening in a week.  I would stay on your game if I was you though... Don't let your guard down.

I think it is possible, but not likely. I guess it depends on how well received their blogs are, if they are like yours and get copious amounts of comments there are better chances... or if they referred someone that churns points it is possible... But probably not reality.  They also may not be looking at it the same way.  There is some one in my area that popped up and churned their way to the top by over posting (at one point i dont think there was a limit on #of blogs/week).... and once they got to the top they stopped.  I should pass him in a few days.... If they are not here for the right reasons, they probably wont pass you.... Pluss... you would also have to stop what you do here, what are the chances of that?  You continue to grow points each and every day.

And I will stretch this out to two comments for you so you get an extra few points! (just the nice guy that I am helping out a friend!)

Mirela - 10,000 points in a week would be tough, not impossible. If each of the blog posts gained a lot of comments. Perhaps a lot of six hundred points (10 - 12) links to Active Rain from various web sites and a lot of invitee acceptances during the time frame.

Mirela, I can't calculate getting 10,000 points in a week even with winning some contests, so you are probably ok. It depends if there are limits to commenters and links from other site points and Invited Members.

I may be missing something Mirela, but you have the highest points in Horry County and the next highest is way far off the mark and your competition are in Charleston, Bluffton, and Greenville, etc. and in areas over 2 hours away and totally different markets than MB. I was under the impression that localism was truly localism, not state-ism. I truly think you have nothing to worry about. But I could be wrong. Hoe this comment helps

You're assuming that the other agent wants to subscribe to the city you're in and be listed BELOW the favorite neighbor listings of two other agents.
