Active Rain.....It's Broke but Please don't fix it :)

You just gotta love Active Rain......they fix one thing and another breaks. Reminds me of a cartoon plumber. The last couple of days (or maybe just yesterday and today) I was commenting and noticing something missing.....

Yep most of the Posts didn't have that little fruit thing we had to do before pressing submit. Hey, I liked that....especially since I didn't always get the dang graphics right and would have to redo them anyway. So tonight (actually it's 5 in the morning) I was on one Post and I had to do a graphic and another where there wasn't one......

So, how does this work.....who get the fruits and who doesn't... LOL :) As for me, I hope they never fix that particular broken part of our Rain :)

I think I figured it out...no security words when I leave a comment on another persons post but when I leave comments on my own those codes pop up.

Neal- I'm going to watch....OK, I do have one here as I'm answering, and I think I saw one on one of the AR guys Posts...am going to go look :)

There are no more fruits except the first comment I think. It isn't broke it was done this way intentionally . I blogged about it yesterday. check it out

You are right I just commented and their was the graphic and now on your blog there is none. Today was the first day in a while I saw the graphic. I hate the graphic please keep it off.

I like not having to type in security codes as well. I have found them to be a pain in the butt.

Heather...yes could we leave them off....or at least stop putting words with so many jajablaldlal then a hyphenand do that again LOL :)

One benefit of those security codes - they keep every robot spammer in the world from posting nonsense comments on your blog - which you then have to spend time removing! I'm happy to type in a word at the end of a comment in order to keep my posts the way they should be.

Kathy, do you ever feel like you are beating your head against the wall figuring Active Rain out? I saw the secret code disappear first on the Members Only, then on other posts, then it came back, then it went away. I have no idea what they are doing, and of course no one tells us anything. The purpose behind the graphic is to stop the spammers. If you had tremendous spam you'd be begging to bring the code back.

Penny-Absolutely true....but I still hate some of the words..they make me have to slow down and concentrate LOL :)

Gary- Oh I know the purpose....but the little kid in me wants to hurry up and get all my commenting done before it comes back :) And of course you're right...I can't figure AR out at all on some things, and normally I don't even try......just go with the flow...so it's here today, gone tomorrow. Can't log in, no problem try later ...yep ya just gotta love the Rain :)

Your first comment after logging in has the graphic. This is my first comment after signing in this morning and I have to type in "nervosa." However the next comment I make shouldn't have the graphic -- unless I figured it out all wrong. Not a bad thing, but I am going to miss the funky words, some of them were great for Scrabble!

Kathy, I don't get it, some posts have fruits and some don't....and anyone reading this would think we were all nuts :)

Jo Ellen-Fruuit for Scrabble....yea that's true, and how about Wikipedia...I remember Posts from a long time ago telling wus what all the various fruits were...good stuff :)

Morning Cheryl- No....my mind was just going, and I was fighting myself for a midnight snack....I just couldn't do it, but my stomach was saying feed me I'm hungry :)

I think AR knows exactly what they are doing, and they are trying to make it as user friendly as possible without allowing spamming. You should only have to enter the magic word once when you first login. I am all for it.

There is no rhyme or reason that I've been able to figure out. No Neal, that is not always true---I thought so for a while too but it proved wrong. You get fruit and vegetables, no cookies or candy. LOL

Troy- Well without looking at how long you've been here I would say you have a heck of a lot of trust :) I know from my web guy that sometimes things go haywire while they work on other things.

Cynthia- Yea, now isn't that for the birds...just healthy stuff...LOL .....wonder what would happen if we had Hersheys, Chocolate Chip, etc......:) I am still watching to see how the graphics play out.

I noticed this too. It seems like when I comment on others posts there is no security word but when I do my own there is. Like stated above I thought that was there to keep the spammers or bad guys out.

Doesn't matter to me whether it stays or goes.

I was happy to see the "fruit" disappear... one less thing for me too do............. now that I opened my big mouth it will probably return.

Kathy- I guess it doesn't really matter to me, but I sure like not having to type those long hyphenated words LOL :) Bad guys are already here...check your inbox for the new type of Telemarketing :)

Dez- Anytime there is one less thing to do it's a good thing :) Hope all is well with you and that your Gram got her 100 comments....hey let me come check :)
