Learn something new every day - Gas tank indicator arrow

By
Home Stager with Home Star Staging

I was listening to the radio yesterday and the two show hosts were talking about gas prices and cars. One mentioned that she was driving her husband's car the other day, it was close to empty and needed gas. Upon arriving at the gas station she forgot which side of his car the gas tank was on. She pulled up, got out, and realized it was the wrong side. Frustrated she had to pull to another pump.

When she got home she lamented to her husband about her ordeal and he simply told her to "check the gas gauge and the little picture of the gas pump. You will notice a little arrow on either side of it indicating which side the tank is on!"

Sure enough, as I'm driving, there it is! gas guage I've never seen this gas tank indicator arrow before after over 20 years of driving.

I learn something new everyday!

Karen I laughed out loud at your blog.  I just learned about this little trick two years ago - when I got my new van for staging - but I had no idea about the tabs for plastic wrap and aluminum foil.  Thanks a million.  :)  Betty

Karen BFF I've missed you too.  I've been taking time off from "thinking" and working on becoming self sustained and as environmentally friendly as possible.  Thus the electric car, which I totally love!  How are things with you?

Hi Linda, I think some cars have them and some don't because you're not the only one who said this. I think foreign cars may not have them as frequently.

Karen - My BMW doesn't have it but my husband's Nissan does.  He was totally shocked when I told him what it means.  I can't believe no one knows this!

I was shocked too as I was driving. Maybe it's the European cars not the Asian that don't have it?
