OK, so I'm a Dummy too.  I have had the ability to spell check for years, but never noticed it until Active Rain.

Do you have the Google Toolbar?  If not  you can download it here.

On the Google Toolbar is the icon "ABC Check".  You can use it to spell check your blogs and comments.  It's easy to use, just be sure your cursor is located within the "entry" box.  Click on it, the spell check will scan for mistakes, if one is found it is highlighted.  You click on the highlighted word, then here's the tricky part, you have to figure out which word is the word you are trying to spell.  Yes, it does take some command of the English language, but at least it's multiple choice!

Now if Google would just add a "grammar" button, this Jersey Girl would be most grateful!

Kristal:

Thanks...I just posted this AM and I was reading the blog back to my son and noticed I had 3 spelling errors...needless to say I was embarrassed. Is your blog aimed at me? lol

Sometimes we totally forget the tools we have at hand. Thanks for reminding us that the solution is already on our screen.

No David!  There are quite a few of us that forget to check spelling or re-read for proofing.

I have multiple problems.  For some reason I think I can still see without my glasses.  WRONG!

Hope this helps.  AND I hope the DUMMY book people give me a contract and not a "cease & desist" letter!

I've got the Google toolbar & yet  have often thought how nice it would be to be able to have a spell check feature. IT'S BEEN RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME ALL ALONG! Duh!

My business philosophy has always been simple, "find a need and fill it."

You are welcome!

ROFLOL! I know I really need to utilize the spell check feature more often as I type so quickly that I do not check grammar nor spelling.

Thanks for the tip.  When I was writing my entry information, I had to keep going back to dictionary.com.  This will be much easier.

Actually, I find that I can type something in my email account and it will underscore both a mis-spelled word and poor grammar.

Certainly is easy to fix.

Although I just hate seeing some mistakes.

I try to type all of my blog posts in Word and cut and paste them into the AR screen.  That allows me to use spell check.  However, when I'm making a comment on someone else's post... I'm on my own.  I'm a HORRIBLE speller.  So thank you for the tip.

Krista....good info. But just like Carlos and Sara, I now write my blogs in Mircosoft Word. I also learned this when I was writing my first blog the other evening in Active Rain...I was searching for tags and my screen froze. So, I lost what I wrote....ouch. I was soooo mad....

I would like if you could view my one blog titled, "First time homebuyers.......  "  I tend to put too much information into something at times. It was my very first blog and I would truly appreciate any feedback.

Also...I had another question. Can you repost a blog? If not, can I at least shorten it and change up the subject a tad?

Thanks,
