I am currently working with a woman in her older years and she has been a delight.

She always asks me if she is making it difficult for me.....and I laugh as I tell her not at all. Why she asks is that she has gone from looking for a home (she rents now) in the $150 - $175k range. Then it went to $110 - $140k range......then it went to $under $100k range.....get the picture.

We went to mobile homes on a park then to just a better rental......today, a call that we are back at the under $110k range because it makes more sense than renting.

All I told her is that my goal is that she gets what she wants and that she is happy.

To boot we have just been out once and mostly dealt with the issues through email and the the phone.....as it should be until we get to the point we are on the same page. I listened to her concerns in buying and made sure to get them addressed sooner rather than later.

I love my job and she is a true delight....and when we are done I know she will refer me, she is just that great a person.

Dan, I think you are a wonderful caring Realtor however, to protect yourself you should try to get a family member or close friend incvolved. Two sets of ears are better than one much like the advice to take someone to the doctor with you so you don't miss anything. And of course take extemporanious notes. Lots of them.

Dan - I'm not sure I understand what you choices might be. It's hard sometimes working with customers who have no immediate need to move, because sometimes they really are just kicking tires.
