Wichita Homes for Sale-Where to Live in Wichita

Every city has a personality and Wichita is no different.   Many people have described it as a Big "Small Town" and it does have that feeling.   Having grown up in Wichita and attended it's schools, churches and community events I feel I am somewhat of an expert on it's neighborhoods.  So if you want to know where to live, here's the skinny...

Wichita is unofficially divided into East Wichita and West Wichita with areas South and North as well.   The majority of growth and housing is continuing to move to the East and West.  One reason for this is the desirable school districts in the towns of Andover (to the East) and Maize (to the West).   Families looking for great schools and affordable housing have created a demand in these areas and homes continue to increase in value.   Shopping, Churches, Schools and Restaurants are all conveniently located in East and West Wichita.

West Wichitans have a reputation for being down-to-earth, sensible people.   Many farm communites exist to the West of Wichita and people on this side of town expect good service at a fair price.   Family life and community events are important to all Wichita families and West Siders are no exception.   As the city of Wichita has grown it has spread West so there are fewer established neighborhoods and more new suburban developments.   Most West Wichita neighborhoods feature neighborhood pools and parks.

East Wichita in contrast has lots of well established neighborhoods with rambling ranch homes on large lots.   As families have migrated to the suburbs there are also lots of new developments to choose from offering many price ranges and amenities.   East Wichita is also known for more "high-end" shopping and dining.

Wichita also has a thriving Downtown with the popular area of Old Town which features bars, restaurants and shopping all within walking distance of each other. Old Town is an area with brick streets and old warehouses that have been converted to lofts, shops, art galleries, clubs and restaurants.

Whatever your lifestyle Wichita has something to offer everyone!   If you would like more information on housing options or Wichita life, visit my website at www.mywichitahome.com or send me an email, I'd love to hear from you!
