Back on January, 30th I made a post about both ActiveRain.com and Localism.com achieving some traffic milestones.

ActiveRain and Localism each hit milestones yesterday

I like to share these milestones as ActiveRain makes it march towards, uh, world domination.  I love numbers so their fun to occassionally take a look at, and it also effects how much online exposure members are getting.

ActiveRain.com

Jan. 30, 2007: 10,308 unique visitors

Mar. 19, 2007: 24,289 unique visitors (135% increase in traffic)

Localism.com

Jan: 30, 2007: 1,126 unique visitors

Mar. 19, 2007: 3,881 unique visitors (245% increase in traffic)

By my calculations ActiveRain should have by-passed Google and taken over the Internet sometime in 2008 ;)

Hi Matt - That's an impressive upward trend. Can you include the membership levels on the graph? I'm wondering how much of the increase in traffic is coming from Rainers vs. the rest of the web.

John:  I'll put that graph together, the majority of the traffic increases are driven by search engines according to our logs.

So you're the Big Kathunta eh?  (over 1 million points!!)  I'm week old to Active Rain but am impressed with your venue!  I know to survive in our industry I have to improve my web presence and this format is an excellent opportunity to do it!  It is just a matter of networking....

Thanks,

Rick Turner

Those are great numbers, Matt. That's almost exactly what our numbers at RES looked like yesterday... but it's taken us longer to get there. :)  Back to back Turner's again... what are the odds?

While I think AR is GREAT and bound to increase in traffic I think that statement is a bit of a stretch.

Mmmm.  3821 unique visitors is more than Homefinders.com gets in a day.  But, we're just local.  Good job.  Cross your fingers it keeps growing.

I am.  I'm getting back links from it.  That's fabulous.

When our Morgan horses went from 1/2 bloods to 3/4 bloods, I did some figuring that in about five generations, we could have a 120% Morgan Horse.  No one else can see it.

Matt, Can you break that out by Search Engine. In the past the bulk of my AR hits where coming from Google but a few days ago I noticed a Up-tick from MSN and Yahoo. My guess is this has to do with the latest news about fresh content... Let just keep feeding the beast!

I vote for a common stock issuance right now to members of 20K points or more... then when Google is begging us to leave it alone, we can IPO and buy them!   Talk about an SEO strategy!

Matt, congrats on a job well done, lets hope with everyones hard work it will continue to go for total world domination of everything that is the Internet. I totally agree with David's comment above about stocks certs to over 20,000 points as I am just about there and should hit it today??

I'm not sure if I understand the point system completely. I can receive 25 points for each comment I write for up to 10 comments/day. Is this correct? I can receive 250 points a day for leaving 10 "great post"s a day?
