A Transparent Butterfly...? Never in all my years!

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with WHISPERING PINES REALTY 20398180

A transparent Butterfly:

They hale from Central America and range from Mexico to Panama. It is quite common in it's zone, but not easy to find because of the transparent wings.

A Butterfly with transparent wings is both rare and beautiful.  As delicate as fine blown glass!

The presence of theis rare tropical gem is used by rain forest ecologists as an indication of high habitat quality and it's demise alerts them of ecological change.

Rivaling the refined beauty of a stained glass window, the translucent wings of the Glasswing Butterfly shimmering in the sunlight like polished panes of turquoise, orange, green and red.

All things beautiful don't need to be full of color to be noticed; in life that which is un-noticed has the most power!

These came to me in an E-Mail and being so unusual, I wanted to share them.  I hope you enjoyed them as much as I did!

I have never heard of them! Cool! I lived in Panama in the 90s. The butterlies there are as big as dinner plates in some instances! I'd see a whole tree covered in them and they'd go to fly away and only then would you realize there was not one leaf on that tree. I saw many things in Panama that were amazing and beautiful. I wish I had seen one of these!

Beautiful photos. My brother gave my youngest daughter a burtterfly farm for Christmas. It comes with a coupon to send off for the larvae and then you raise them. It was quite and experience to watch them develop through all stages. Absolutely beautiful!
