I retired for a month after 32 years in retail and knew I needed to be with people and have an office to go to on a daily schedule. Last month I completed my 45 hours of classes and received my Broker license and I just receive an award from Century 21 for sales acknowledgement. We have a small office with just five agents and a full time secretary. We normally have customers who are looking for first or second homes. In March I sold the biggest property our office ever negotiated, 2.3million. It took 16 months to complete the sale. At the closing everyone stood up and clapped for me. I enjoy meeting new customers and working hard to find the right house. I tell my clients, "we are looking for a house, if we find it, then we will talk about buying it". Our market is also driven by the NYC market. They enjoy revamping a property to make it their own. It is usually a second home used on weekends and holidays. I am President of our Business group in Kinderhook and on the Board of our Library. Younger people see me as honest, dedicated and Mac and O'mally's dad. Older customers relate to me because of my retail business. Kinderhook is a historic village with a green village square. Mostly white collar and self employed villagers enjoy the slow living pace we all love. Farmers Market on Saturday mornings bring the community out to socialize early, Bikers club, Runners group, textile hookers and knitters, writers and chest groups find their calendars booked. Villagers leave their car keys in the ignition and the front door unlocked in a safe enviroment. Our local school has a winning report card from the State of NY. Sidewalks and street lights make for a safe walk to the bank, post office and lunch. The local nusery and farm stand enhance our homes and dinner table. A ride into Kinderhook on Route 9 is a beautiful trip. Take the time to see a modern day Camelot, live a dream, and enjoy country at it's best.
