This week my husband and I had to go home unexpectedly. On Monday night my husband got the call the all hate to get. His grandfather passed away. We wrapped everything up on Tuesday so we could drive to Louisiana to be at the funeral on Thursday.
Although I didn't know his grandfather well nor did I know him before he got sick, but I have great memories in just the short 3 years I do know of him. Plus all the great stories I have heard from my husband and his family. The service was lovely and they did a great job celebrating his life!
We spent the rest of the week with maw-maw to make sure she had everything she needed. I write this tonight to say that I am blessed to have a wonderful family. My family that I have known all my life but now the family that added me 3 years ago when I first meet them.
Paw-Paw will be missed, but I was glad that I got to meet him and get to know him, but I am more grateful that the family included me this weekend where I got to know him even better. So make sure that you take the time to really get to know your grandparents and take in all they have to offer.
