Every year since I was a little child, my parents would take me to see the world famous Kinetic Sculpture Race. The Kinetic Sculpture Race atracts entrants and participants from all over the world. This event usually happens on Memorial weekend in the month of May and usually lasts all three days, rain or shine. Throughout the year, contestants would create some kind of man powered vehicle which would traverse on water as well as land. The teams comprise of as few or as many people as they choose, but the Sculpture has to be creative and completely man powered, thus pedal power is a must.

The contestants usually start out at the Arcata Plaza and then travel along the Highway 101 towards Eureka, this is at list 12 miles for the first day. Then the contestants usually camp along to water front in Eureka for the first night before continuing down south towards Fields Landing and Loleta. The contestants and their vehicles are tested on various tarrain; land, water, and mud! This is a very fun event for the entire family. I hope to see you there next year!
