If you have been reading my blog for a length of time, you may know that I was recently on a mission to right 100 hand written notes to my sphere of influence (SOI).

Anyway, that goal was slightly interrupted when I switched offices.  I had sent out 45 notes with my OLD cards.

So yesterday, I began my quest again.  100 hand written notes.  With my new cards.

My notes are short and sweet:

Hi Guys-

I just wanted to make sure you had my new business card.
I hope all is well-

Ken

Enclosed with two business cards.

Not salesy at all.  I am going further in that direction with my business.

I have written 20 so far.  80 to go.

Ken

good idea - I think something I need to implement as well

Good luck, take some Aleve in case you get hand cramps.  You may want to follow up with an email asking if they got your note.  you'll get quite a bit of response with the additional follow up

Hey Ken, let them know why you switched offices "the systems they have will allow me to operate my business more efficiently .... .so that I have more time for you"

Balance those handwritten notes there bud with two hours of prospecting every morning - at least Monday through Friday.

Congrats on getting those notes out - but always follow up with a phone call.  It's about balance.

Great Post.  I would definitely follow up with a phone call or email.  A great way to update your data base.

My goal is to write 5 every day for at least 4 days per week.  My Admin Ass't puts them on my desk everyday.  If I don't get them done, the stack just keeps getting higher until I get caught up.  Keep it up, Ken.

Good idea Ken!  I also switched offices - same company, but closer to to home - I'll set that as a goal as well.  It's a little thing, yet it's a nice touch.  Have a great week.

Hey Ken,

Very good idea.  At a recent seminar I attended, Brian Buffini recommended 5 notes per day.  That way your hand doesn't fall off.  :)

Go Ken, Go....I wnat to hear SOON that you've done another 20 notes! 20 a day for the next 5 days will make over 100.

KEn- I wondered what happened to the notes- It sort of got lost in the office change- I like the determination- starting over for 100- I think the handwritten notes will be well recieved. I hope all is well with the new office.

Great idea....We should all do that sort of thing more often. With email, text messages, and all the other techonology at our finger tips, it's way to easy to lose that personal touch.

My hand is cramping just thinking about writing a 100 notes!!

Ken- I like the personal touch of hand writing, in todays age of as little as possible personal contacting a good handwritten message can be a warm welcome showing how much you really do care :-D

I like to send out Christmas cards around the holidays (and the off season). I get nice blank cards hand write a message just wishing them and their family a safe and happy holiday from myself (yup nothing business about it, but it still keeps me in their mind.... I think lol). Then about a month before my season begins I send out my advertising with a handwritten message telling them how I hope they had a safe winter and look forward to seeing them again this upcoming season. I hope these work as well for you as mine do for me :-D

Hey Ken,

Just an FYI, have you seen the new Money magazines list of the top 100 small cities?  Napervill is ranked #3 for being one of the top 100 small cities to live in based on cost of living, school quality.

Hi Don, Chris, Carol, Barbara, Mary, and NYL.  Thanks for stopping by.

5 a day would be a great idea.  Every day.

I get enthused and send out whole bunches!

Yes Don, I saw the ranking.

Thanks,

Ken

Keep on going.  Until you give up and surrender you are never beaten.

Morning Ken,

Good luck achieving your goal. 100 notes shouldn't be difficult not that you have a new location to inform clients about.

Hi John and Hal.

Shorter message.  No return address.

I will get through it within a week!

Ken, excellent idea and you're right not too cheesy and one great way to reach out to your sphere of influence. Do a few a day and those 80 will be gone in no time.

I think Barb has a great idea.  And it's one I doubt I would have thought up on my own.  And all in all, your idea of sending out handwritten notes really is a winner.

Ken, Good luck with that goal.  You know I agree with you that many times something very simple and straightforward like taking the time to send out your new business card is a great personal "touch."  You need to be creative about those "touches."  Good reminder because we are actually getting new cards next week with a new design, and I will follow your example.  By the way, I see you are in Illinois.  I used to travel there a lot in years past - so different from Georgia and Florida.   Keep us in mind if you or any other agents in your office ever need to work with someone in Atlanta or the Tampa Bay area.  Thanks and good luck.

Hi Carole.  Thanks for stopping by.  I am just getting my business up and running and always need referral sources and locations.
