I received an e-mail from Lysa Napolitano today looking for some Juicy Gossip!  I've been meme'd! You want it, you got it:

My 3 sons (John 24, Ryan 22 and Bobby 21) and I grew up in the same neighborhood in Pompano Beach, Florida My parents lived 4 blocks away from me and my ex-husband lived 3 blocks away in Pompano Beach Highlands. I had the same mail man as an adult as I did as a kid.  My sons and I all went to the same Elementary, Middle and High Schools.  On occasion I would go pick the boy's up from a friends house and it would turn out that I went to high school with one or both of the parents.   My oldest son John had the same kindergarten teacher as my brother and he also had the same typing teacher as I did at Deerfield Beach High,  Poor John!

When I was a kid, I grew up with Wrestling on television and also in High School, I was a huge fan.  Remember guys like Tommy Rich, "Nature Boy" Rick Flair and Andre the Giant.  Not only did I watch it but I was a wrestling manager where I earned a varsity letter in my freshman year in high school.  For one of Bobby's birthday's we saw guys like "Macho Man" Randy Savage, Hulk Hogan and Kevin Nash.  Bobby actually wanted me to marry Kevin Nash, I don't think that his wife would have appreciated it but in Ormond Beach, Florida I belonged to a gym called Olympas and I spotted him on an exercise bike and one of my girlfriends was nice enough to introduce me to him. This is was 2 years ago and I was star struck. Currently every Friday night you will catch me watching Smackdown.  My two favorite wrestlers are Batista and John Cena.  My husband laughs as I carrying on like a fool but I think wrestling will always be a part of my life.

I retired from Winn Dixie at 35 years old to pursue a real estate career.  I worked my way from a cashier to a location director working every department in a grocery store.  Yes I unloaded trucks, mopped floors and cut meat. I was 1 of 2 location directors that were female in the Miami division of 153 stores in the South Florida Area. I did a professional photo shoot for Winn Dixie where there were contracts and agreements for permission to use my photos on all of their recruiting materials. Yes I was a cover girl for WD.  I attempted to retire, at first they offered me a position in the corporate offices.  I worked a desk job for 3 months in the human resource department part-time while I got my real estate started.  I could not manage both so it was that point I decided to retire and start my new adventure.

My oldest son John made my wildest dreams come true, he won tickets to a Lenny Kravitz intimate concert.  Knowing that I was a huge fan asked me to be his date.  While in South Beach we were walking around. There was a special event and banners everywhere advertising fashion models being in South Beach. A gentleman approached my son and asked him what my name was and asked if I was a model.  Must have been the rock and roll clothes I was wearing.  Once inside Virgin Records we were living large, it was quite an elegant event, incredible food anything you wanted to drink, people catering to your every wish.  The setting quite intimate with candles as lighting, couches and chairs everywhere and Lenny Kravitz on stage singing and playing the acoustic.  At the end of the show we were escorted upstairs where we had photo's taken of groups of 10 with Lenny Kravitz.  I was very lucky as one of his people moved me next next to him and they snapped the shot.  When I got my picture in the mail, I wanted a retake, you could see that I was at awe and it looked like I was terrified.

Last but not least my husband grew up in Coral Gables, Florida and we actually met in Daytona Beach, Florida he was a competitor in the Pan American Games in 2000 he won a bronze medal for Olympic tae-kwon-do.  His favorite Martial Arts is Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, he has many black belts and plenty to be proud of.  Sometimes he practices on me, it used to get on my last nerve.  Now like him I try to feel it, think about it and get myself out of his clutches!  Sometimes I do!

Thanks Sarah for creating this group.  This was fun!  Hey you three down there..

Lysa-Sorry Rick Flair was the man then. I loved Tommy Rich. Yes I do remember The Fabulous Freebirds. Sometimes Rick Flair shows up on Smackdown, I laugh because I mimic all their moves and sayings, like the ever famous "Wooooooooooooooo." Jeez growing up, I thought most of them were hotties!  Thanks for allowing me to share it was a lot of fun.  Thanks

You're welcome, Midori!  Thank you so much for contributing your own Meme!  I was surprised about your wrestling addiction.  I had to watch all those guys growing up (Dad and brother were fans) but it never took with me.  Although I did have a goldfish I named Jake the Snake.  My hubby likes PRIDE and UFC fights now and somehow I like that more ... WHY I don't know ...

Great to hear more about your life.  Sounds like you're in a really stable area and that's so nice, especially in this age where everyone moves around so much.  (Not complaining, we NEED people to move, don't we?)  Thanks for your Meme and for passing it on!

Midori Midori, Midori!

First off, Three grown sons, you look very young.

Now ...I cannot believe, I just commented onmy MEME, to you about Rich Allen and then you faze me even more, I started watching wrestling when they were still with Vince Sr., I used to go to all the matches in Madison Square Garden, I had 10th row center for the first Wrestlemania, I also was a big fan of WCW,akaNWA/AWA, god I even surf on the obsessed with wrestling site, not wathcing it as much ,but i followed Hogan sincew he was in Vern Gagnes federation, I wanted to be a wrestler, I use to wrestle my brother, silly isnt it? I also met Lou Albano a few times, he was a famous manager, god and i still watch UFC and loved the Gracies, I used to take some Karate/Kung Fu for a while.loved watching them fight!

You and your husband and I have alot in common with sports!

And LOVE Lenny Kravits music.he rocks, his mom was Roxy Roker on the Jeffersons.

That is really cool!

Neal-Flattery goes a long way!  Thank You, Yes I am old enough to have grown sons, I will be 45 this year. I don't take any credit.  It's got to be the Asian blood and as my dad says, "It's in the Gene's"  Of course for his 4 sons he says to them, "It's in the Jeans!"

I had my first son at 20, my second son was a gift, he became part of the family when he was 13, literally showed up on my doorstep.  He was my boy's closest friend.  It's an interesting story!  My youngest son is here with me in Daytona but heading back to South Florida, Ft. Lauderdale, he doesn't like it here.  Not diversified enough and all of childhood friends are still down there.  He is going to resume college down there which is fine with me it gives me an excuse to travel more often that way. I now have an 8 year old step son I think all of them keep me young.

As far as wrestling, it has always been part of my life, all my 4 brother's wrestled, I remember them making weight, running with plastic bags, grapefruit and lots of spitting.   They say women are bad for what some do to maintain weight!   I saw a clip of Lou Albano last night!  Madison Square Gardens? Sooooooooo jealous. I really would love to go to a Wrestlemania.  Have you ever seen the movie Choke?  It's awesome.  I think at one time or another most boys wanted to be a wrestler, including my son's and brother's.

I used to sell for Re/Max Partners in Lighthouse Point in 1999.  I loved it!

Wow, Neal it was really nice meeting you and have enjoyed this new connection!

Midori,

I was a big fan of Bruno Sammartino.

you are so funny, that you like wrestling and sports, my wife loves sports, mostly a Mets fan.

You do not find too many women who love different types of sports especially wretling, man. ....i was at a match at the coliseum, I could not stand it, it must have been trash day, the people were spitting, screaming ,throwing beer, god...now i know why I should have sat in the top row instead of the front!

If you ever get down this way before or after this Fan day, I would love to have lunch with you and talk further, you are very cool!

Neal-yes those live wrestling events are SCARY!  I had fun but you are right.  The event I went to was in the Miami Arena and I remember I was so afraid we were going to be trampled or jumped.

As far as my love for sports, yes, I think it was my dad's fault, my brother's and then all 4 of my boys and 20 of their closest friends.

Thank you, I think you are pretty cool yourself and yes, I would love to have lunch with you.  My youngest son will be his big brother's room-mate soon.  So I am sure that I will be down more often.  The last time I was down there was Christmas Time.   I expect to be down there soon.  Have to help move him in!  I definitely will stay in touch.

Lysa is awesome isn't she, I could never do what I do without her.  I tell everyone including her she is my right arm!

Midori..... this was very interesting. Especially your kids growing up and the area that you lived in. The schools that everyone went to and even your kids parents. Talk about a small tight community. You don't see this as often anymore. Me?  We moved every 5 years. By the age of 21 I had moved a total of 7 times myself. (counting college & the Army)

In any case, the Winn Dixie thing was cool also. Did they have a Winn Dixie calendar also?  <teasing>  thanks for sharing.

Therese-I know your son will always hold you in a place where you belong.  We are so lucky to have son's there is nothing like a mother son relationship, just like a father daughter!  My boys have made me feel like a queen on more than one occasion.  My son John could have taken anyone, the girls adore him but he picked me!  Thanks Therese for stopping by and for also sharing about yourself.

Jeff- yes, I am so happy to give my kids that good old hometown feel.  We lived in a subdivision of 2000 homes, you will laugh but the first home I bought, I knew the seller and the house next door used to be our bus stop in middle school.  There was a park across the street from us and I spent many hours there as a girl, as time passed the county pulled the equipment out because of teens hanging out late at night and kids skipping school. Well my biggest acomplishment for the kids was to petition to get that park put back in and I did just that.

Also, your sister and I are not that different , I was adopted as a kid by my aunt and uncle and I too adopted a 13 year old boy(my son's best friend) who is now 22 years old, Ryan.  Its a unique story but life works in mysterious ways.  I remember when I was first contacted by HRS, I had to go to my parents for advice.  It was a scary place to be as a single mother of 2 already.  But as I pulled up into their house, I didn't have to discuss it.  I just did it!  It was my way of saying thank you to my parents for giving me a second chance at life.

Thanks for stopping by Jeff and sorry those calenders sold out!!!!  Just kidding no calenders but I do have a few of the photo's.

Ok Midori....Wrestling??  Would never have guessed it...although growing up in Atlanta Roller Derby was the thing there every Saturday downtown and it was televised on Channel 17 which now of course is TBS!  But as little as I know about wrestling, I do know the Rock and watch him in anything I can find with him in it.  Although I do remember Abdullah the Butcher, I think he ate pencils or something on camera...  :)

Miss you!

Desiree- Thanks for stopping by, Ok I have to admit I got decked out in hopes that maybe I might get a photo with him.  Well when his security placed me next to him, I did touch him but I looked so scared.  Yes my bare arm rubbed up against his leather jacket!  I really wanted the photo to be edited, you would have thought I was standing next to an alien.  I looked terrified.  He is as humble as they come and just as beautiful upclose as he is on stage.  So technically I did touch him but I really wanted to give him a huge kiss.  I am so gutless!!!!  Yes I agree with you he is a very handsome man!

Ed-Thanks for the comments, I think Therese is awesome and a great writer.  I have my son to thank for that wonderful experience and also where I used to live. The stars love Miami and Ft. Lauderdale!  I also saw an intimate concert with Roberta Flack, thanks again to my son, who helped make the back-drop for the Marley -Fest in Miami.  Somehow I got an invite to see Roberta Flack, that too was magical.

Midori, I loved learning more about you.  What a great Meme.  I had seen your name around the Rain but now I feel like I know you.  I love your excitement about wrestling..you even knew who that was in Neal's headlock!  I'm impressed.  I only remember Lucha Libre (think Nacho) from when I was a kid plus I loved that big blond wrestling dude..what's his name? The one who went mainstream and I still can't think of his name!   My years are taking their toll on my memory lol

I know one other family who adopted a kid's best friend.  You changed Ryan's life, of that I'm sure.

Neal, tell your wife I love the Mets!  I always did root for the underdogs.  I grew up just one mile away from their stadium.
