Can you believe it? The temp here in Oklahoma City reached 106 today and now, at 7:40pm it is still 103! This isn't like Phoenix or Las Vegas where the humidity is low, believe me it feels every bit as hot as the thermometer says. Makes you wonder how people survived the heat in the days before air conditioning.

This also makes me appreciate even more what our soldiers have to endure--in Iraq it's "only" supposed to be 112. All of a sudden, as I sit here in air conditioned comfort, the 103 here in OKC doesn't seem so bad.

I have family in Tulsa, and they equate OK summers to MN winters:  stay indoors!

I'll take the 115 degree dry heat all day long opposed to 90 degrees with humidity.  What's the normal temperature in OKC this time of year?

Hey Steve, Gary Woltal said this morning that it was 106 degrees in Flower Mound, Texas. You probably are both in the same weather pattern!!!!!!!! Keep the AC going!!

It has been over 100 every day for about a week here.  How many days until Thanksgiving???

Fortunately, our humidity right now is only about 20% so it could be worse. I checked, and our avg high temp in OKC for Aug 3rd is 94, the record is 103, so we probably set a new record today--it all depends on what the high was at the airport.

Teresa, Flower Mound isn't that far away so we probably are in the same pattern and Tony, my kids live in Phoenix so I know about the dry heat---either way it's too dang hot!!

We live in the mountains and have not turned our air on yet this year. Yea, there are days when we thought about it and we'll probably run it a bit before August winds down and brings us Fall. But this morning we were playing tennis with some friends who have a daughter in Afghanistan. The said they were telling her that it had been kinda warm here....to which she said.. Right. It's suppose to be 120 here this week.

It does make you stop and appreciate all those folks have to deal with!

WOW! Hard to believe it gets that hot.  I'd hate to host an open house on a bad day.  I wonder how many potential buyers would show up.

Not many when it gets that hot and the AC has to be working! Fortunately, we've only had maybe 10-12 days over 100 this summer. Today it's raining and only supposed to get to 81. :)
