An Evening with the Wiggles - A Humorus Look at a Successful Business Model | Jeremy Williams of Keller Williams Realty NE
This evening I took my wife and daughter to the Wiggles concert in Houston. It was a Wiggly good time. My 2 year old daughter was fascinated by the two minute jingles, the filler time between songs (providing the Wiggles a quick breather), and the thousands of children jumping around in their seats (which by the way they require all children to purchase a seat which they never use). While you may think these guys seem a little off the rocker, they are laughing all the way to the bank. I have heard, but not verified that the Wiggles are one of the top paid groups in the entertainment business. With cheap seats starting at $50 (remember you also have to purchase a seat for each child no matter their age) it is my guess that this is not where they generate a majority of their revenue. The show is built around new material and upcoming CDs, childrens' toy lines, party favors, and more. These guys are smart. Looking at them from a business standpoint the Wiggles are very successful. Their branding is consistent, their product offering consistent and recognizable, and fortunately or unfortunatley the Wiggles are memorable (I still have the Big Red Car song playing in my head). If you ever have a chance to go to one of the concerts, first of all your children will love it, but you will also get to see a successful business model in the works. Even I can learn from the Wiggles.
