This Week in Pictures [03-22-07]:

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Bryce Mohan Photography

I have a plan. Actually, let's call it a scheme. That's more exciting sounding. Kind of dangerous. I've been awfully busy this week with shooting, I need a little AR time. :)

My plan is to post up a few of the given week's images.

My favorites from work and from the personal world (or the interesting bits, even if the photos are bad). Please feel free to comment and critique. I'm also happy to answer any questions. I hope others will join in and post their photos as well. The ones they like as well as the ones they want help with.

Here's my listing work from this week and a bit of last, as well as some portrait work with family and friends.

Cheers, -B

Bryce - These are stunning.  My favorite is also the indoor one with the view of outside. The exterior of the house at dusk is also fantastic.  The stairs, actually I can't pick a favorite.

I'd love to see some data on how many hits this home gets on MLS compared to the competition. Can't imaging how much traffic the photos generate.

Wow, lucky customers Bryce. Picture #5 that shows the connection between house and proximity to water is superb.

Wow, I'm up early right now - I'm off to shoot a wedding on a very special beach today - it's a five hour drive but worth it. :)

Joanna, glad you like the images. You guys fooled me for a second. I thought you meant #7, the sunset shot. #5 is a really simple shot. Find any house with a large window and a decent outside. Snuggle up a wide angle next to the window and aim your camera almost center frame where the window ends (you can break the rule of thirds here because the geometry of the window will shift the focus from the center). Voila!

Jason, thank you. :)

Chris, no problem. The only folks I give a hard time to the "craigslist professional's". ;)

Cheryl, thanks. I enjoy posting and of course if this gives folks ideas all the better.

Thesa, don't grow up. Please. Stay as young as you are. :)

Maureen, thanks very much. Thanks for mentioning the stairs also - I think those are my personal favorite (if for any reasons, perhaps because they are so unique). Funny story - the agent doesn't even want to use that picture as they feel people don't like spiral stairs. If I had to do the shot over again I don't think I would have lit it so strongly from below, or perhaps at all. As it was I used tungsten continuous lights to hit it from above and below.

Sue,thank you. I always build linkage or an anchor into my view shots (at least when possible). I believe this has a profound affect on peoples ability to imagine they they are in the space. For those of you interested in more on this topic check out sue's blog.

Cheers, -B

I'd love pics like that of my kids!!  and I think the only thing the housing pictures are missing is a touch from a home stager! ;)

Nice Bryce! I like the window view as well and the B&W's of your little man. C'mon people...You're supposed to post your photos too! I'm a few days late but...

While shooting the exterior of a place last week I felt something brush up against my leg...Looked down and didn't know whether to pet him/her or run away in fear. Those eyes!

Bryce, How wonderful these photos are. I've tried to talk you into this before, and I know you mentioned some pretty neat things about . . . now what was that state? Just can't remember. :) But have you considered beyond the Grand Canyon we also have mountains, desert, lakes, the 5th largest city in the US, the only place in the world (besides northern Mexico) where giant saguaro cacti grow, and a river named New River. New River is such a new river it doesn't have any water in it. Is that tempting enough?

Craig, whatever drugs you are on...you need to quit. On the other hand...if you aren't on drugs, have you considered taking some? ;)

All kidding aside, thanks. :)

Yvonne, that's quite a resume. I'm impressed! I certainly would like to take a ride through (I'm aserious motorcycle guy). I do plan to ride across america (or at least some of it) next year. Maybe I'll stop by!

BTW your comment about New river had my wife and I literally in stitches. Thanks for the great laugh!

Cheers, -B

Wow.  Number 5........I live in an area that is all about the views, mountains mostly.  I did get some shots at dusk yesterday that show the view outside the window but I am absolutely amazed at what you are able to do with a camera.  Wish you lived around here.  I would hire you for my listing shots for sure!
