I can't believe I'm leaving tonight with 49,774 points. If I could just write one more post about anything, or nothing, I could add another 200 points. Then if I just comment on 2 other posts I'd be over the magic 50,000 threshhold so I could check in and sign up for my Localism sponsorships at noon tomorrow instead of waiting until 12:15.

But I promised myself I'd never do that again. I did that once before back in February with a post called 'I'm so ashamed' when I was trying to leapfrog into 5th position in my community. It was a cheap ploy and I was sore ashamed of my blatant effort to write a cheap post late one night just to score enough points to do it. I swore I would never again stoop to such antics just to score a few points. It was a cheap and hollow victory, but a victory nonetheless.

Well, truth be told, I did leave the door open. Like Obama on the campaign trail, I said I WOULD NEVER AGAIN RESORT TO THOSE KIND OF TACTICS (unless I was up against another deadline). Guess what.

The upshot of all this is that I'll be on a plane to Kauai tomorrow and I don't even get in until 11:30 tomorrow morning THEIR time. I don't even know what time that is in the real world and I think the localisms go on sale Mountain-Central Standard Time or something, which I know even less about. So by the time I get to the house and mix a Mai-Tai and figure out if the WiFi works, everything will probably be long gone. In which case, I will be too. But at least I'll have 50,000 points, and I'll be on the beach in Kauai, with my Honey, and that don't suck.

Hope your day goes real well. I know mine will. Happy Local raining.

As a Hawaii Realtor on the Big Island I say Aloha. Have a great time, enjoy Kauai.

You still have time to put out a good blog, not just a crappy one for the points. But with being on the plane, there is no really any pressure, and you are not hurting yourslef.

So, just enjoy the vacation. Maybe it would be best if there is no wi-fi

Gene - have a great day and a great wedding, having your kids there for the wedding is special. My son was my best man when I got remarried. Hope you have some great pictures to share.

Dang it Gene...

Your blatant posting has left you with 50K and now you'll have to worry about it all day instead of having a great time! Relax and have a great time, there isn't a person reading this that wouldn't trade places with you!

I can think of a lot worse ways to spend your day than being on the beach on Kauai.

I guess "Operation Gino Freedom" has ended.

Gino has finally capitulated; when he resurfaces again (with a great tan AND a permanent grin on his face), he will be a MARRIED MAN!!!

Congratulations!  It's about time!  God bless your union!
