I am delighted to post this blog, because after reading the below report, I discovered a new sense of purpose.  With permission from the author, I have decided to post it to Active Rain.  Please share it with other Real Estate Professionals.

Working my way through the blogs and found this. It's a good study, interesting to read how marketing dollars are spent. It would be interesting to read an update, as I imagine the gap between the attract and seek models has widened dramatically.

My name is Jesse Olive and I am the Director of Relations for realistiQ. I appreciate you posting this report. However, it is important to note this report came out in 2008. Also, it is directed towards Agents I believe. What about companies that invest in marketing and then charge the Agent a technology fee? That is how are Broker Owner customers handle it. We have one client that actually covers the entire expense for their agent and is demanding the agent be full time and embrace the tools.

My point? Real Estate has migrated HEAVILY to IT in the past couple years and the agents are now relying heavily on technology their Broker Owner supplies them or paying minimal fees. Our Coldwell Banker partner customers are prime examples. I am certain 2010 data would differ. Less print marketing and advertising, more IT.

Once you have an engine in place to process transactions from leads, the focus must be on lead generation to fuel the engine!
