Black Diamond trail:Rip Saw

There are places on the new trail with elevation changes so radical, it's been difficult to find the right equipment to complete the new slope. Last ski season saw the grand opening of the South Mountain slopes: Boom Run and Cruiser, plus the high speed detachable Quad chair lift (The Pemi Express), this year the Rip Saw trail will be added to the mix, for some new and even more steep terrain. The glades trails (woods skiing) will be improved by the access created by Rip Saw, and two additional lifts are on the horizon.

The South Peak Resort (new Slope side homes and condos):  Are getting closer to not only ski home access (which they have already) but also ski to the lifts access which is currently in the works. I know ski season is still a few months away but I'm excited already for the new steep stuff. It's going to be a great time to be a New England Skier, new slopes and the Farmers Almanac is once again reporting a huge snow year is coming our way.

Wanted to add some info to the post, the Majority of the slopes are named after Lumber and forest management related topics, Walking Boss trail is named after the cutting crew foreman that choose the trees to be cut, the Blue Ox trail named for thePaul Bunyan's Pet Bull, The Flume trail for the way lumber was floated down stream to the Wood or Paper Mills, just thought I would add some History to the slopes names at Loon Mountain. Val : The words reckless abandon come to mind, the steeper the better and less novices to try to ski around works for me. Steve
