2 Comments on Anoka County Property Valuations have Arrived!
It depends. My property valuations have been going up about 11% year over year for the past 3-4 years. My Valuation for the upcoming year is about 6000/- higher than my neighbours which sold last Oct. It seems quite out of whack a bit. I spoke to the County Assessor and their expectation for home sale prices is pretty high. They do not seem to see the market cooling yet.
I will have to fork out more for nothing gained. (paper value).
Prasanna--If you live in Anoka County, call and discuss with the assessor. I do live in Anoka county and my taxes too had increased over 10% for the past 3-4 years. Last year, I made a phone call to the assessor as I was concerned by the sales numbers I was seeing in my neighborhood. She was extremely reasonable and willing to discuss my concerns. Bring up what your neighbor's home sold for and ask if it was used as a comparable amount. Don't just complain, ask how the amount was determined. I have found the Anoka County assessor is very easy to work with.
