Most of you know by now - that I am the placemat pillow queen.. I blogged here about placemat pillows and here about other throw pillows that I have made. I love how inexpensive and quick they are to
make.. Also, I find unique placemat prints to work with..
I picked up these great leaf placemats at Big Lots. They are part of the Jennifer Farrell collection. Each Big Lots store has different accessories from the collection. I was out of town a couple of weeks ago and found some beautiful candle holders and a decorative mirror that I could not find in the Hickory stores.
These two great decorative pillows were a quick project and with polyfill came out less than $7 each.
I probably would have had them finished in less than 30 minutes IF I could have:
- Found the seam ripper - used a sharp knife point instead
- Found some green thread-realized the top stitching was gold thread -found that

- Found my glasses to thread the sewing machine
Anyway, I love the way these turned out.. I hope to use them in the vacant staging that I am proposing today.. That home has a cabin feel with some wood interior so - the leaf print seems to fit..
