Texting Has Come to Listing Descriptions

I saw this listing in our MLS and I actually thought it was a joke.

"LG deduction SO Send in yer pals, ample space for in-law or office etc,nr everything,warm,inviting,solid, quality, character Shiny pine fld thru-out spacious yard, Walk to swimming, park, schools & churches"

Alas, someone has been texting their tween a little too much.

MLS grammar is bad to begin with (really what is an EIK and who else but agents knows this??) but this one must have been punched in on a Crackberry.

Jessica, Do you think they might have been experimenting with the ad to see how effective texting mighty be? I would keep an eye on the agent and the listing to see what happens.

It's really sad isn't it? Everything shortened to just a letter because we are too busy or driving and texting.

The thing is the younger generation totally gets it and will likely call the agent. Yes, it is poor grammar but the society we live in is a texting generation.

When I text I still spell every word out and add punctuation....old habits die hard, and at least my old English teacher would be proud!!

Jim and Maria-Perhaps the agent is trying out. However, the price for the property is way above the area median so I don't think this was a deliberate attempt.

I too am a creature of habit. I shorten some things in the MLS but I try to remain grammatically correct.

I just thought it was interesting to see if this would become a trend.

Yes, it's interesting how mainstream texting is. It's not just for teens any more. One of my realtor friends in Los Angeles uses Text My MLS, a texting product that generates warm buyer leads. She seems to like it.
